As a red-blooded Tennessean re: the governor's race

The thought of Marsha Blackburn governing our state disgusts me. To me, she's an opportunist that was silent when the 2020 election was stolen from Trump. Her and Hagerty were terrible leaders through Covid and the 2020 election theft. Furthermore, she never has an original thought and she seems to be on repeat.
Rose reminds me of Lee, who I like. Fritts is hard right, and I think that is where Tennessee needs to go to lead the fight.

Blackburn’s commercials about China are peak Boomer slop. I’m sure she’s better than any Dem but she just doesn’t seem very bright. I like Rose in this one.

What do you not like about her? She’s as right wing as they come

She’s another do nothing RINO like Bill Lee. Vote Monty Fritts if you want to get things done.

I clearly stated why I don't like her in my post. And no, she's not right wing, she's an opportunist. Listen to her speak and she just sounds like she's repeating the same thing over and over with no passion or original thought.

What positions or actions has she done to make you say this?

Lee will never get the credit he deserves for navigating TN. through a very difficult 8 years. I think Lee was second to Desantis in leadership of their state.

She sucks.
Rose sucks
Fritts I will probably end up voting for even though I’m uncomfortable with his stances on religious liberty

She’s far more than Donald Trump. If that is your gauge. She’s actually anti-abortion and not pro gay marriage. You know an actual conservative.

Or she's pandering, which is what I believe.

I have no idea who that even is. But Cornyn, Collins, Murkowski, and the lot have violated conservative anything for decades. Kentucky re-elected Beshear, Michigan re-elected Whitmer. Govern me harder, daddy.

I think Blackburn is a fine senator, IMO. Is she perfect, no, none of them are but she will take tough votes unlike many so called R's. you could do a lot worse, IMO.

i am voting fritts. i dont hate marsha, but i also dont fully trust her
Posted on 7/10/26 at 11:51 pm to JimEverett
She’ll tow the line. Never hated her, never bought into hwr but was usually a reliable vote. She’ll keep TN conservative. She has the best chance even if the others are better we dont know what theyll actually do once elected. We know she’s a Tennesseean thru and thru. My family like fritz, i tend to like rose. I’ll prob vote for Marsha

I have had a hard time forming an opinion but generally am unimpressed with Marsha though I'll be shocked if she doesn't win
As an aside, I'm all for being anti abortion (though I don't really care about gay marriage at this point) but are we ever gonna hold our "conservative" politicians responsible for their fricking budgets? Focusing on abortion and gay marriage (which are both basically settled issues in Tennessee anyways) is just asking our politicians to distract us with them while they burn down our coffers

Her embarrassing moments of refusing to answer questions from a Nashville reporter after an event in which she promoted she would answer questions has started to sink her. I haven’t seen it yet, but Rose is apparently using video from that confrontation in ads. She went on a conservative talk radio station for a full hour the next morning and basically said she was at a federal event and discussing a state race would violate election laws. She provided no specifics.
If you have listened to her in interviews, she never fully answers questions. She almost offers the right’s version of Kamala word salad.
There is a debate set for July 20, sponsored by the station of the reporter she refused to answer questions from. Rose and Fritts have committed…she has not. If she no shows, she can kiss her chances goodbye.
Rose is in a great spot. While he had to relinquish his current seats race to run, if he doesn’t beat Marsha, her US Senate seat is open with 4 years left on the term. He would likely be appointed/win a special election to finish that term. His campaign ads have thanked her for her service in DC, but encouraging voters to vote for him, which allows her to continue representing Tennessee in a way in which they voted for her, by finishing the term she was elected to.
All that said, Fritts is a good guy, but he doesn’t have the resources. I can’t remember a single TV ad for him. This debate is his chance to shine, but he has a lot of ground to make up in short order.

That's a very good analysis.
