Here's the article.

quote:

Officials say Arkansas' new Ten Commandments monument was destroyed by someone driving a vehicle into it less than 24 hours after the monument was placed on state Capitol grounds.

Secretary of State's Office spokesman Chris Powell says Capitol Police arrested the male suspect early Wednesday. The suspect's name and motive haven't been released.

At first I hated they didn't release the name but then I like it. Just start throwing these asshats in jail, repair what they break and move on. Stop giving them their 15 minutes of twitter fame.

There are certain states in which I would never destroy religious symbols or statues for fear of severe punishment. Arkansas is one of them.

Maybe it's time to add an eleventh:

Thy shalt not vandalize

Wouldn't be kinda funny if the guy who broke them was named "Moses?"

A suspect is in custody, Michael Reed, 32, of Van Buren. He's been charged with defacing objects of public interest; criminal trespass on the Capitol grounds, and 1st degree criminal mischief.

A man with the same name and age similarly destroyed a 10 Commandments monument in Oklahoma in 2014. The linked article is a Tulsa World columnist's account n 2015 of Michael Reed's letter about his mental illness. Then 29, Reed was released from an Oklahoma hospital in January 2015 "under an agreement with Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater for continued treatment, therapy and family support. He is diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder."

Well it is completely inappropriate to display the Ten Commandments on State House grounds anyways.

Always good to have people like that walking among us. Take today's example, for one. I take it they figured he was not a danger and not prone to violence.

But not as much as our governor is saving US taxpayers by kicking 65,000 people off extended Medicaid.

What if it is the same context as them being displayed at the US Supreme Court, i.e., a law construct issue?

I don't know which leftists are more passionate about

Their hatred for Christianity, or their fondness for Islam

No, actually your imaginary fantasy leftist is actually a suicide bomber on Mars. Make up some more imaginary qualities for us. We need good fiction to read in the summer.

Is that faster or slower than Moses destroyed his copy?
