Doesn't the first paragraph contradict the second? She's opposing the ARIZONA Supreme Court's affirmation of a statewide abortion ban, then says abortion should be left up to the states.

Was wondering if someone else would notice that.

Not surprised a certain crowd ignored it.

Thanks McConnell.

Hillary would have trumped his blocking of Garland.

Trump still saved the day.

Hillary Clinton being the worst presidential candidate in history saved the day. We got lucky that Democrats were that stupid.

In a 4-2 decision, the state's high court upheld an 1864 law on Tuesday, which was codified in 1901, allowing a near-total abortion ban to go into effect in Arizona. Under the 123-year-old law, all procedures are barred except in cases when "it is necessary to save" the life of the mother. The ruling will further restrict abortion in Arizona, where a 15-week ban was already in place.

She should have elaborated more on her stance instead of jumping the gun.

Knowing one was essentially voting for the SC likely gained Trump a few votes.

It’s a pussy approach. Why we let politicians get away with the “let the state’s decide” is beyond me. Have some balls.

Yes

Gifting a precious Senate seat to a radical leftist tends to trigger conservatives

Not really a contradiction.

One can simultaneously believe the decision should only be made at the state level AND, oppose the current decision of the state. People fight for changes in law all the time.

It would be a contradiction if she said, "I think it should be left to the states but the Supreme Court needs to overrule the Arizona High Court".

You're correct, but objecting to a state decision that went in favor of conservatism and then trying to tie your position to Trump/Conservatives is pure absurdity.

She has no idea what she believes (if anything), which is why she looks so ridiculous on this.

I think that she, and others could more appropriately say, "The court made the right decision as a matter of law but I would like to change the law".

Because honestly, the court did make the right decision and it's kind of refreshing to see a court do what it's supposed to do. Namely..........."Hey legislators, this is what your legislation actually says..............if you don't like it, YOU fix it because we aren't going to".

Too many judges seem to think that if they see bad law, it's their job to correct it but that ain't how our system is supposed to work.

Interesting about the AZ supreme court. It was packed with conservatives by Gov Ducey, and an interesting thing about Ducey - he's despised by Trump/MAGA (which is why he's not running for the senate) and commonly viewed as "establishment" but by the time he left office he had delivered a flat 2.5% state income tax, packed (added two justices) the supreme court with conservatives, made Arizona the first state to give parents true universal school choice/vouchers, and reduced state payroll by 5,000 (20%) while AZ GDP grew by nearly 50%.

Pretty impressive from the conservative POV, and it's unfortunate Trump's petty loyalty nonsense stands in the way of Ducey turning a blue senate seat red, with an actual conservative to boot.
