I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s so yes.

Our govt is totally incompetent so the closer we get to somebody setting off a nuke the closer we get to things spinning out of control with incompetent elites pulling the switches.

When the US sanctions Ukraine to launch missles into Russia we are relying on Putin being a sane and reasonable individual to not escalate.

Think about that.

If you're a believer then God is in control.

He also allows that self absorbed angel to have rule Here.

Jesus referred to him as “the ruler of this world” (John 12:31), and Paul calls him “the prince of the power of the air” (Ephesians 2:2) and “the god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Stay faithful. That is the important part. Tell others.

I let my mouth fly at times but I am a true believer.

God's still working on me.

Well of course fear is an issue we deal with our lives each day but don't let it consume you and let it be your idol.

I'm not scared, but Ukraine should be. Have every belief the DS will nuke Ukraine and blame it on Vlad.

Navy by total warships:
Russia 781
China 730
North Korea 505

People love to post the total warships on the internet leaving the tonnage part out. How many of the top 3 in warships just have a lot of boats that are similar to PT boats?

That is part of being a believer. Suffering and death is expected but you must endure to the very end.

I do. Which is why Russia won't do it.

My son is 18, so yes. World War is brutal and leaves no one unaffected. It should be avoided whenever possible.

Scared of that 1982 made-for-tv miniseries with Rock Hudson?

I remember that. Amerika I think it was called.

I mostly remember because SNL came out with a skit mocking it -- what if Canada invaded the US instead: Amerida.

Scared? No. We are all screwed if it actually happens. In the world we live in today, there is only 1 piece of land that people truly want to fight over.. at least in my opinion, and that is Israel.

As for anyone else, have grown up conversations and figure out the problem, and work together to figure out a solution. It isn't rocket science. Someone always has leverage..

Yes, some bad people come along and ruffle some feathers.. but if everyone is behaving rationally, wars don't need to exist anymore. They just don't.

We need to prepare for it though.. so keeping our military at the top is critical, but assuming we can do that, the world is just too small these days. We can literally make a call and send a drone to kill some dude 5000 miles away in the blink of an eye.

Wars are stupid. If someone needs something.. figure out a way to help them get it. They don't need to fight for it.

Just my opinion, and I think Trump agrees.

I sincerely believe that it is just a bunch of fear-mongering
this board seems to specialize in it
I understand as a parent while it would be a legit fear I have a nephew who is currently serving

But I have faith that we are being given a chance
this country and humanity it's up to us to do right by the opportunity but I don't think it's too late for any of us

Yes, I would not like it to happen. I have to draft age sons and I do not want them to go to war so Blackrock can have some stupid minerals.

I don’t believe WWI is imminent right now but I do believe my son is currently closer to being drafted than any 18 year old man since the 70s.

Yep, we have a class of leaders in DC that do work at all towards advancing peace or diplomacy. During the cold war we had leaders on both sides working on the various START and ABM treaties. Now? People have forgot about the risk. It's become the prevailing thought that it would never happen, that no nation would risk annihilation. What if normalcy bias shows up one day and bites us in the arse for this thinking?

Even more sobering is that we have some in military leadership that suggest a nuclear war is winnable, and survivable.

If it came to it, we have few interceptors, however they would be quickly swarmed. We have zero civil defense, not sure it would matter. No blast shelters, unless you're one of the elite. Communications would be spotty and the panic would be 9/11 on steroids. Just Google the Hawaiians response to the false North Korean attack (2018) to get an idea. It was chaos.

If a person is in constant fear of what might happen then that's on them.
