That's a fair bet. That may still be worth a loaf of bunny bread in 2035.

By 2035, electric trucks will be more dependable (much less moving parts), much more efficient, much more powerful, much safer, and will have batteries that will have 1000+ mile ranges.

You may have battery stations, where you pull in, some technician slides your battery out, slides a freshly charged one in, and off you go. 5 minutes.

Do you use a computer, or are you still using an old typing machine? (Obviously, you've learned how to navigate the internet, but you get my point.)

Yeah, and by then with the likely 150k spread out over 15 years, everyone can still afford a vehicle to hang buts from.

I’m looking forward to the public anguish over the environmental trauma caused by mining battery elements.

Multiple car makers have figured this shite out already, not just that there's an environmental issue but the geopolitical issue, that China has most of the unmined rare earth metals. They've started making motors that don't need them, although for EV cars they're not as efficient thus, reduced range.

I love my 4WD truck.....very dependable, 20+ MPG, SAFE, comfortable, and great resale value! Over 100K miles and ZERO repairs needed! And bought it USED!

You’re lucky. My Nissan has 70,000 miles and needed a new transmission, a new battery, requires between $500 and $1000 in maintenance per year, about $1200 in gas per year, and was a $21,000 car that is now worth $300. It’s a 2013.

What the frick is the problem with electric vehicles? Do you hate environmentalists that bad? They’re superior in pretty much every way.

Lol, what will be used to manufacture and ship these batteries not yet available?

And where will we dispose of all current and future vehicles?

I wouldn't spend that on a gas vehicle.

Honestly? Not because I'm a climate fanatic, but I'm thinking of buying an electric car. My range of travel is about 10 miles. I thought it would be neat to have a little electric car to putter around town in, and not have to deal with gas stations. I'll still have my regular car for long distance travel.

Options are between a 2013 Mitsubishi i-miev and a 2015 Nissan Leaf.

Because people can't afford this in an economic downturn due to restrictions by democrats.

Most people don't even have enough savings for missing a damn paycheck.

Your disgusting white privilege is showing.

Nothing wrong with electric cars, yet the world is NOT ready for them, period. I will not own one until the millenials do all the test driving and prove they are as dependable and functional as my gas trucks are. Guinea pigs required.

I'm sorry you had a lemon Nissan....my trucks, ALL brands, have been great!

Environmentalists are just another group that keeps the political football afloat, and the football is stuffed with CASH.
I am an outdoorsman and love a clean environment....so if electric cars make the environment better (beleive it when I see it), great. Having said that, like it or not, hydrocarbons are absolutely necessary for this world to survive....think about that.

Electric cars have not proven to be superior yet, maybe one day, but not now. It's way too early in the development stage....

Good luck!

I sure hope they do NOT reach that goal!
They are just playing the political rhetoric game....
with the hopes of getting some of our taxpayer cash in the form of subsidies!....kinda like CHINA does.

Most Nissan trucks suck from the ones I’ve seen. The smaller (engine) the better

So you say you will be able to pull into a charging station, the technician will pull out your 1200 lb.,$10-12000.00 spent battery pack in 2 to 3 minutes, and you will be on your merry way?

That might be a thing or it might not.

However, I remember that time that all the NASA, Boeing, NG, etc. engineers and big wigs laughed at this guy who said he was going to send a rocket to space have it flip around and come back and land on a pad sometimes or a drone barge other times and then use it over and over again.
Who's now?

Go watch Planet of the Humans on YouTube and get back to me on that.

Really, anybody that believes in this bullshite or that electric vehicles are viable for everyone needs to watch it.

Or hell, everyone just needs to watch it anyways. It's extremely eye opening as far as the whole "going green" movement, solar panels and wind power, and electric vehicles.

And it's not biased, as it's made by one of the main proprietors of the green movement - Michael Moore.

To sum it up; "going green" uses just as much or more fossil fuels and finite rare earth resources than our previous methods, and it's basically all a huge cash grab if you follow the money

Go ahead and tell me then.

The point was to illustrate that we shouldn’t laugh at ideas that sound crazy. Which was what I was replying to. What sounds crazy today is a trillion dollar idea tomorrow. Ask the guy who started an online book company or the one who designed a electronic pay system and parlayed that into becoming the richest man on earth.

There are also 330 fricking million people in the country.
