This is now the third winter in a row that I’m refusing to get one.

Yes. I received one last year for the first time in 13 years and I ended up getting the flu for the first time in 13 years....

If I get sick again this year I will never get another one.

I’ll pray for you that you don’t get it again.

I get one every year. Doctors order. I have grandchildren and when they get sick, someone who doesn't have a regular job has to care for them while their parents work.

I’ve not had one since 2011 when the government forced me to get one. I’ve never had the flu whether or not I got the shot.

No. I have an effective immune system. I had a sore throat for 12 hours a few days ago and it went away. Solid immune system > flu shot.

Why bother?

If I get sick, I'll take some DayQuil and power through it. I'm not some pussy.

Yes. I get one every year. I like to help prevent the spread of diseases.

I'm approaching 71 and had the flu twice in my life, once as a young boy and then at 27. Never had a flu shot but if I get the flu and die this season, I'm never gonna speak to y'all again for bringing this up.

Flu shots...work half the time, don't work half the time...wonder why? I still don't think experts understand the flu...and flu shots are just guess work.

The biggest flu pandemic in US history that killed 100 million people...didn't act like traditional flu.

It killed healthy people. It used your immune system against you.

Most influenza outbreaks disproportionately kill juvenile, elderly, or already weakened patients; in contrast, the 1918 pandemic predominantly killed previously healthy young male adults.

Unless you're 80 years old, getting a flu shot is trusting the government over viruses while injecting you with a little bit of flu - some vacs have a live virus in them too...depends who you get them from.

Yes, because I’ve had the flu and will do anything that even slightly decreases my chances of getting it again.

Last time I got a flu shot, was 17 years ago. And that was the last year I got the flu, too.

I work around/with biohazardous waste on a daily basis, so I think I might get immunity through miniscule doses. But no, I will never get a flu shot again. We have 11 employees in our facility, and last year 8 of them got a flu shot. Six of those 8 got the flu- nobody who declined the shot got sick. That's more than coincidence, no matter what the doctors say.

I'm 80 and I have been getting them every year since I began my chemo treatment 5 years ago. Doctors advised me to get the flu shot, but cautioned me not to rely on it too much. Fortunately I live in an isolate rural area and don't come into contact with many strangers. No flu in that span, but I attribute it more to my secluded lifestyle than the vaccine.

The best advice I ever heard was this: if you go to grocery store or the gas station wash your hands before you touch your face.
