Targeting power plants is considered a direct war crime
If he does this I expect several GOP congressmen to side with Dems on impeachment and subsequent removal from office. Committing a blatant war crime will give them cover for removing him. I hope Trump isn’t this stupid to follow through

So if Russia had come in and taken out Biden, and then the next guy that replaced him. Then took out some of our powerplants resulting in many people dying among other hardships. And they continued to do this and threatened to do more until their leadership did what they wanted.
Are you telling me your response would be in favor of Russia?
I would use China, but Biden was already the guy they wanted.
Come on man, no way in hell would it do anything other than unite the entire country against Russia. We'd start looking for the most extreme leadership against Russia in our elections and the people we supported. Yeah we may have not liked Biden but another country taking him out and so forth isn't going to fly.
Sure some people might would take to the streets and want to concede to Russia, they did that in the 60s with "better red than dead" shite. But overall, it will do nothing but unite us.
Why in the world do you think they are going to respond differently?
