It’s a fascinating hypothesis.
One thing that has confused me is that sometime prior to Adam and Eve Lucifer and 1/3 of the angels were cast out of heaven for their attempting to support and presumably elevate Lucifer equal to or above God. Yet Satan, Lucifer, comes into the presence of God at least three times in the old testament and God entertains him. Twice in Job when God give him permission to test Job and again in Zechariah or Jeremiah I'm not a familiar with that event as I've only read it once or twice and have a hard time remembering exactly where it happens. I have always wondered how it is that Lucifer is allowed back in the presence of God after the all.
I've also heard it said that the verse of the sons of God and the daughters of men was not meant to say that the Angels committed this sin of sex with human women because the Angels are not the sons of God. Humans are God children and will one day be elevated above the Angels.
The verse meant the sons of God being the line of Seth mixed with and had offspring with the daughters of man being the line of Cain who were forever cast out of God's presence and Grace.

Even if you believe the Bible to be inspired by God you can’t ignore that Jesus said not even he knew when the day will come, but only the Father. If Jesus doesn’t know something, then he is not all knowing and he is a different divine being than the father (kills the Triune god claim).

Listen to Michael S. Heiser on YouTube talking about this event. He says the Bible never says a 1/3 of the angels fell with Lucifer and it’s a myth made up by man to explain the one scripture in Revelation where it says 1/3 of the stars were casts down.

The phrase,” sons of god” can refer to both man and angels. But, how would a coupling of a human man and a human woman, produce giants?

I'm not really sure I can buy into the coupling of Angles with Humans because the Old Testament is pretty clear that Angles are not the winged beautiful creatures humans mythology as turned them into.
They're actually pretty terrifying and in no way human or having human characteristics.

This is new an interpretation, everyone in history took it as angels, including during the time of Jesus. You can look at popular books during that time such as the Book of Enoch or the Book of the Giants, or Book of Jubilees and they all interpreted it as some type of angel. Even the Palestinian Targum which was written in the 3rd century indicates the same.
