Lutnick’s son runs a hedge fund that bought tariff refund rights for pennies on the dollar, so they’re set to profit billions.

These tariffs were designed to fail, the entire economy was held hostage for personal enrichment.

With the exception of the Biden autopen fiasco, this might be the most brazen corruption ever in Washington.

Do you have a link for that? Thanks

I would too, Ivory. Tariff refund rights, but you know man he has a hedge fund, you know, like they bought up the rights man, like they bought up the rights for like illegals not crossing the border for pennies on a dollar and made a fortune man.

Before an income tax was established, the majority of funds given to the federal government derived from tariffs on domestic and international goods.... Was it unlawful then to or just now because Trump is doing it ? . Im confused .

I get that... but I guess what I meant to ask was... what leads him to think "it looks like". What looks like? His feelings? The fact that questions were asked? What? What leads him to think "it looks like".

The questions and the way they asked the questions. It was more like "What makes you think you have the right to raise tariffs?" Does that sound like they will say - "Yes, what he is doing is totally legal".

Also, nearly ALL the legal analysts on Fox and Newsmax are saying he will lose this case.

And what leads you to think we will be paying back that money?

If the tariffs are ruled illegal, how can we keep that money, legally?

At worst, the SC ruling will be something that provides a workaround from this, I would have to think. The logistics would otherwise be impossible. Other presidents have unilaterally implemented various tarriffs in various forms, if not on the scale of Trump.

How the hell do they tell him it's OK for tariff's and now (it looks like) we will end up paying back that money, some that has been used to support programs in this “”shutdown?
“Yes Mr. Trump, of course you can do that. Thank you sir, may I have another?”

He surrounds himself with “yes men.”

Always has.

Not the best way to get good, objective counsel.

Unlike Biden...who surrounded himself with trannies, queers, and socialists not willing to listen to him but actually giving orders.

Who authorized those tariffs? That may end your confusion between that and what's at issue here.

Apparently, you need congressional approval if there is no emergency. I'm no lawyer so I'm just going on what I'm hearing.

And, what I'm hearing is Trump himself said if we lose this case we will be in deep trouble and he mentioned becoming a 3rd world country. Lawyers should have been 100 percent positive that this is legal.

Of course, they say they have a Plan B, so we shall see.

I voted for Trump and would continue to vote for him, but inflation has not dropped and I'm tired of these damn cabinet meetings where they spend the first hour congratulating each other and telling each other how great they are.

Tariffs aren't unlawful. It's the WAY these tariffs were imposed that probably is unlawful.

There will be tariff refund claims that would need to be processed

Too much money for importers to NOT go after it

That's why I'm suggesting it's dependent on how they rule on this. It may also be a play to force the hand of Congress, which nobody seems to be discussing really.

Naaah his lawyers fricking suck. They all need to be fired. They were terrible at keeping him out of prison for 724 years worth of fake hoax cases - they have been terrible at winning 34-36 cases so far this year brought on by fake activist judges - they all need to be fired because they are just not good

Uh, isn't he a convicted felon? Doesn't look like good lawyering to me.

All the lawyers did was delay until we (the people) voted him in and prosecutors were basically forced to drop their cases.

Will they in turn refund their customers who paid increased prices at the stores due to tariffs?

Probably not, they’re getting absolutely cooked today.

But Trump doesn’t recruit talent, just blind loyalty, so this is more of the same.

This sounds like blame shifting.
