No and teachers are absent because they have problems with the brown hoodrats who yell Allahu Akbar.

I'm pretty sure that poster is just trolling for reactions. Probably doesn't have much of a life outside this board

At it's core, yes. This whole wave of unrest started as a huge student revolt over the collapse of France’s public schools. More than 250,000 students, parents, and teachers have been protesting, and hundreds of high schools have been blocked or shut down. The spark wasn’t politics — it was classrooms sitting empty because there aren’t enough teachers, overcrowding pushing nearly 40 kids into a room, buildings literally falling apart, and budget cuts that would eliminate another 1,600 teaching jobs.
And like in the U.S. what can start off as a well-intentioned, "mostly peaceful protest" turns into something else because "bad actors" co-op the protest for other purposes and that's what the focus becomes.
So yes — it started about schools, and no — the current violence is not about schools. Far-left groups are trying to fold the unrest into anti-austerity and anti-government messaging. Far-right groups are reframing it as immigration, Islam, or regime change. Neither framing matches the original student demands. So when you see burned cars, smashed storefronts, or schools vandalized, that’s almost never the students. It’s these small, organized groups using the protest as a stage for their own agenda.
While it has snowballed into a broader crisis over government spending and public security, the core driving force is genuinely the broken public school system.
Good Article
"Black Blocs"
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: France has been contending for years with violent anarchist gangs known as the Black Blocs, who have been piggybacking on the mass demonstrations of the Yellow Vests to commit acts of vandalism and wreak considerable economic damage. The Black Blocs’ destructive riots on the Champs-Élysées prompted the French government to take tougher preventive measures against the gangs, sparking criticism from both right and left. The government will have to keep fighting the Black Blocs and the radicals among the Yellow Vests, who are trying to achieve their economic and political goals through violence.

Of course you don't see the real picture if you are watching MSM. There are plenty of videos all over X of protestors across France. The overwhelming majority are not white, native French.
This is issue is not a left wing or right wing issue. It is a Western Civilization issue. Take off your ideological blinders and recognize what is happening.
If we continue to play blind to reality we are all going to suffer.

A lot of which are not what they purport to be. We’ve had some posted on this thread already.

3 hours??
Was he tied to a chair in a small white room?? Why was he being tortured by being forced to listen to CNN for 3 hours??
Was he one of the falsely imprisoned J6-ers? Does our DoJ know our podcasters are being tortured so egregiously??
Dude has to have some mental fortitude. Talk about taking one for the team!

Not schools, but it's certainly about disaffected youths
All because of a pamphlet telling them they can't rape little girls.

That's pretty close to the reality at how all this started. The schools are woefully neglected and the French government given the choice between funding more for them or for the social programs like pensions etc. Chose to fund everything but the schools because under 18 doesn't vote. Then enter the radicals who have not met a protest that they don't want to subvert. They rile the working class in the banelieus and then you get unrest in the streets. Macron should dispatch troops to Melanchon, the head of the Socialists, home and arrest him and tell him that if he doesn't tell everyone to go home, he will have new "home" at La Sante just off downtown.
In France you have 2 options. You can go to the state run schools or you can wait in line to get into a private school which the state indirectly runs.
France is going to have to do something about the N.Africans that are going on a 4 th generation in the banelieus and crack down on immigration from sub Sahara Africa as well. So much of this is linked to residuals from the Algerian War. You have Algerians, Tunisians and Moroccans that have been in France for 50+ years and who were largely forgotten about and ignored until about 20 years ago and domestic policies that have been mostly put into place to momentarily pacify them.
The problem in France is that they kind of like to protest...and they like to get "demonstrative" about it. I'll never forget being there when the "wine" riots took place because there was a sizeable amount of Spanish wine hitting the market because the native French had drank up all the domestic wine. Hi jacked trucks, drivers beaten emptying out wine onto the cement and then trashing the trucks. Over wine that there was a legitimate demand for. The perps were found not to be "radicals"......just a bunch of farmers that got riled up by........yellow vests and black vests with an agenda completely divorced from wine.

Well stated post. I’ve been to Paris four times. The African immigration issue is a talking point that’s at the heart of a lot of the societal complexities in Paris. I don’t know what the answer is, but obviously if there are those committing violent crimes or destruction they should be deported.

Are the riots in France really about schools?
The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.
