It’s better just to keep your distance, or if you are feeling frisky- agitate then by asking questions and watching them unravel for your entertainment. There are many people who simply don't have a mind of their own who are incapable of independent judgement and thinking. The worst cases are often academics who are very "smart" in that 'you'd have to be an intellectual to believe something that dumb' kind of way.
