Do you agree with the recent leadership of the Catholic Church & SBC or any organization that protects child predators

but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea

I just no longer believe in the Catholic Church which is the religious community I grew up in. My favorite priest growing up, a man I was confident that god used to spread his messages, ended up getting caught up in a sexual scandal (yes it was consensual with a married woman).
You should read about St. Augustine.

People tend to seek spiritual guidance in bad times. Attendance peaked from 2021-2024.
You should’ve seen it after 9/11.
Every church in the country was packed and every car had an American flag flying. It’s was beautiful

Priests are human beings like the rest of us.
Humans are sinners and as long as the church is ran by humans, it will be imperfect. It doesn’t delegitimize the entire mission of the church.
Forgiveness is needed.

Does Trump even go to church?
Not sure if he attends regularly.
I do personally know someone who met with him and preached the gospel for awhile. Trump ended up getting baptized after that a few years ago.

Since COVID , I've learned to like the TV mass.

I do believe God didn’t want the DEMs in office.
This is silly to say about God...who is completely sovereign over space and time. He isnt waiting around to see what we do.

why are the people that don't go to church always so worried and upset by the people that do?
I think the 2 major conflicts are
1. Those going to church asking for special treatment
2. Those going to church trying to project their beliefs on others (often via government but sometimes socially)
If the person who is upset doesn't fall into those categories then they're just broken and/or emotional.

Are people going to church still?

That doesn’t fulfill your Sunday obligation if you can reasonably make it to mass in person.

You think those are the two major conflicts for people who are upset by others going to church?

We are all broken.

God didn’t want us to have a secular governmental office at all. We demand it as a broken people and it always ends the same way.
Taxes, wars, persecution, and oppression

baptist seem to love mega-churches. their top flight productions/light shows to draw people in seem to me to be more about money than anything. when did a church need to have multiple campuses which the holy spirit always seems to lead them to build in affluent areas? that's a formula for a pastor to get wealthy.

Yes. Those comments shouldn't be too controversial.
If I wanted to be controversial I'd say that Christianity was constructed as a religion around these concepts itself. Marginalization was always a major theme of early Christianity and early Christians for that reason.

I think you need to flip this around. The originators/creators/owners of mega churches target a specific set of denominations.
I pass plenty of super small Baptist churches in almost every urban and rural area I drive in. There's nothing about the sect that leads to mega churches.

I quit going to Mass regularly since covid & because I didn't agree with Pope Francis. I'm going more now because I like Pope Leo so far.

It certainly isn't everyone, but there is a collection of people we will call "areligious" that get absolutely bent by the fact that people attend church. Which is a baffling phenomenon to me. Why do they care?
I mean, I think bingo and Chuck E Cheese are idiotic, but I don't care if people go.
