Are MGTOW guys smart or just lazy?

I still have a number of old friends from HS that fit this description.
In their early to mid 30s just living life as if they are teenagers. Hitting the bars every night, hooking up with chicks on tinder, partying and day drinking all weekend. Watching sports and playing video games. Traveling whenever they want, and just living the life they want to live with no real goals or purpose, other than doing what they want and having fun.
Are these guys smart? Selfish? Lazy? I'm not judging anyone, everyone can live the life they want to live. Just find it to be an interesting shift from my parents generation or even more so my Grandparents generation.

Works until you can no longer run with the singles scene, at which point you are getting sloppy seconds at best when it comes to a spouse.

The problem with MGTOW guys is they’re failing to self-actualize by avoiding establishing anything meaningful with their lives. That kind of hedonistic nihilism lacks true purpose. It’s not for me.

If you are clearly aging and not necessarily an OT millionaire, your chances of pulling a prime younger chick drop drastically.
Playing the field is fun but you have to know when to call it quits.

Maybe I'm confused. I thought the MGTOW guys did get laid, but just cheap hookups and shallow short relationships

Maybe a little of both. Modern women are train wrecks and with many of them you're better off being single than getting into a relationship with them. There's not enough good women out there for every guy and trying to find one that is can at times be a lot of work so some guys are just choosing to spend their energy on other pursuits.

Truth. 35+ and you’re going to have to bring something to the table (usually $) to secure a prime younger woman. Now you could still entertain plenty of younger women without big pockets, but they are going to be 2nd tier.

If there was anything remotely fair about family law or divorce, more men would try to start families. As it stands, it is a terrible contract for any man to enter.

I always envisioned it as guys who got burned one too many times by controlling drama-filled gold diggers. At some point, you just throw your hands up and say being alone is the lesser of 2 evils, so to speak.

Dudes who get laid all the time don’t call themselves MGTOWs. MGTOWs self-identify that way because they hang out on sad parts of the internet with other angry sad men. They are free to try and pretend dudes partying in bars and laying women with low selfesteem on tinder are part of their movement, but those guys are just the same type of rich, handsome, or cool guys who’ve been pumping and dumping women since the before the sexual revolution

I agree with this but when it does work out and you not only marry a good to great woman but also raise a kick arse family along with a strong promise of grandchildren that you have a good relationship with, there's nothing more rewarding and fulfilling than that.
Building a strong blood line with good descendants is the most masculine and alpha thing a man can do.
