Does it eliminate all idiot drivers? No.
Does it improve road safety? Better than not doing so.
My son is physically able to operate a vehicle. He's not yet trained, licensed or insured. You really wanna share the road with him?

In your opinion, these number bolster the argument that driving tests are necessary because they keep people safe?
Please rephrase... cannot quite understand what, if anything, you're asking.

Correct, we have laws in this nation. What country are you from? If you want to talk about government overreach, I'm with you on many topics but not on operating a vehicle. Safety is an issue. If someone is negligent it's a way to gauge that since they were certified to drive and agreed to operate a vehicle correctly "under the current laws". Again, not forced to drive a vehicle but if you do there are laws for operating said vehicle safely.

And there is the reason for original question. Driving on the road with others lives at stake is dangerous for them with consequences the entire time. Having a gun for protection from others is intended for saving lives. Enjoying for sport is damn good too.

Passing a test doesn't mean someone is going to follow the laws of the road. People fly past me on suburban roads all the time, even if I go 5 over the speed limit. I'm assuming they passed the driving test.

We don't really know this, though.

A teenager that is hell-bent on driving a car will do so even without a license.

Make no mistake... her OP has NOTHING to do with drivers licenses and everything to do with gun ownership.

Hey, Cubby- I have an idea!
Let us do away with pilot's licenses too... if a man says he can fly and is willing to take tens to hundreds of lives in his self stated competent hands- wtf is the government to deny him this right to travel?

Does the number of auto-accident fatalities in relation to gun deaths prove that driving tests keep the public safe on the road?

I think we should include IQ tests in the dirvers license process. We need an established minimum IQ for licensed drivers.

Doesn't this demonstrate the uselessness of the tests?
No, not at all.. If anything is shows how terribly trained people are in this country.. The test is just a formality that you know the rules of the road along with basic ability and nothing to do with real world experience.
If anything more training for younger drivers like a lot of European countries... Plus driving is a privilege to begin with and owning a gun is a constitutional right.. huge difference

Come on now, you know very well that we can’t agree on anything.

It proves that you're wrong. That is all I was required to prove.
Next question... Pilot licensing, necessary or government infringement?

I don't give a shite about gun laws. I work with enough felons who still own guns to know that gun laws are security theater.

Those two reasons are not the same but can result in a fine. But the need for them is but a pure tax

Cubz... I will cede a point.
It is ridiculous to have to renew a license when circumstances have not changed. Especially when the *only* requirement to renew is paying the state a fee for the privilege of following their laws to the tee.
I would personally be in favor of only forcing renewals once a person has an at fault event or otherwise collects point on their license.

SovCits confuse freedom of movement with freedom to operate motor vehicles on public roadways.
