Someone should then ask him, on the record if that is how he feels about Al Franken and John Conyers as well.

If his answer is anything but that quoted statement, he should be called out in public for being a partisan hypocrite.

Getting the blacks motivated to vote in 18 and 20, love it.

Why is this necessary? They go out and vote democrat every election just like they're told to. Why do you need to motivate them? I'm sure things will finally improve for their community this time when they vote for democrats yet again, even though all the other times didn't really help them.

If Roy Moore had his way, is there any doubt? Hell, he thinks the golden years of the USA were during slavery.

Like the segregation going on in Mississippi with the NAACP throwing their own event for the civil rights museum opening bc they can’t accept that the president planned to attend the grand opening

Yeah that statement alone regarding families during Slavery in this country more then answers the question of whether or not he is a racist

Here is the truth, if you want to know which way to vote on an issue just look up what the CBC’s or NAACP’s position is on the issue and vote the opposite way.

I work with a black gentleman that believes this very thing. Says the abolition of slavery is the worst thing to ever happen to the black family unit.

But he thinks fricknuts is the literal anti-Christ as well so he's not "down with the cause" so to speak.

He’ll provide a counterbalance to the racists in the CBC.

Thread title:
"Apparently, Rep Sewell thinks electing Roy will take us back to days of segregation"

Actual quotation:
“Roy Moore will only take us backwards and harken us back to the days of segregation.”

I think you need to learn what the word harken means. Unless you're intentionally trying to misrepresent the quotation from Rep Sewell.

If that is true. He is the true definition of the satired phrase "Uncle Tom"

And I don't give that insult casually. As I also don't agree with mainstream DEMs.

The reality of life in America is that, although state sanctioned segregation is illegal, de facto segregation exists everywhere: people by nature prefer to associate with those of one's own racial, ethnic or religious group. You don't see whites in black churches or universities.

In case rep Sewell hasn't noticed, even if this were true, it would make a shite ton of blacks happy

There are FAR more segregationist in the black community in 2017 than in the white community

Look at my earlier post. I guarantee you that Rep Sewell is counting on her instincts that her black constituents do not know what “harken” means.

Tell us about this “harkening.” How is Moore going to “harken?” What is this “harkening” going to look like?

Admit it. She is just trying to agitate and scare people she believes are gullible.

I honestly believe the NAACP want what they fought for. For blacks to be treated equally in the US.

Equal is a two way street encompasses the GOODS AND BADS. This is why I think 3rd wave feminists are worse than any black movement in 2017.

I'm going to make a thread about it, but Seperate but Equal was overturned by SCOTUS not out sympathy.

It was the reality that Blacks were not given equal quality or access of education, housing, jobs, or health care despite their god given talents or work ethic to do better. Under GOVT force no less.

The current generation has fools burning down all of reasons CR was a noble cause.

Not me. I can see race baiting for what its is.

To be fair, I think Moore is just pandering to his base. My prayer is that once he gets in, he'll cool down some. DC has a tendency to do with GOP.

Trump is an exception, not a rule.

I think many blacks would agree with you and me in that they don't care if some whites choose not to be platonic with us.

What we care about racial discrimination in regards to jobs, schooling, and criminal convictions.

Simply put, it is the fear of lost economic opportunity not merely socialization.
