I believe this was done already.
Unlike our president John McCain didn't fake having a bone spur.
You are correct. John "Songbird" McCain is a decorated veteran.
He is also a traitor (for talking while a captive) and inept pilot (for crashing his plane into a carrier and killing a lot of people).
He is also one of the biggest problems in DC. I will be grateful when he finally retires but that will probably be when he dies because that old frick is a miserable piece of shite.

quote:We were debating the claim that he gave information that "led to the deaths of thousands." And specifically, we were discussing politifact finding no evidence to support this. They even cite McCain's memoir that says he gave information about past bombings, and signed a confession.
Yet you first attempted to attack the claim he squealed and provided a link that has since been proven to be completely wrong.
So I assumed, and I still do, that since both of us admitted we didn't have evidence of McCain giving the disputed claim that "squealing" referred to that exact claim.
So don't say I'm moving the goal posts we the discussion has always been about that specific claim, when that has always been the issue of dispute, as evidenced by the politifact article.
quote:Again. You tell me the evidence exists, then why don't you provide it rather than arguing about its mere existence.
There are interviews out there of guys who were prisoners with McCain. There are even interviews with the Vietnamese guy who captured McCain after his crash and was responsible for protecting McCain from angry Vietnamese who wanted McCain dead. There are interviews with the nurses who took care of McCain while prisoner.
What is the point of saying the evidence exists, and not providing it? If I want people to know the truth, and I can provide evidence for it, then why would I do anything other than provide that evidence?
You did this earlier with the tweet that "Google Executives Publically Admit they want Trump Supporters Dead." That's a pretty serious and newsworthy claim for it to not be covered by any major and credible source (even if only the right leaning ones). Yet, rather than getting the evidence out in the open, you'll provide a questionable tweet instead.

He also recommends expanding U.S. training assistance to the Afghan security forces so they can capably fight the Taliban and other militant groups. And McCain proposes longer-term support that will allow the Afghans to develop and expand their own intelligence, logistics, special forces and air lift operations.
quote:Then McCain excused himself, saying he had urgent business in the south, and he had to meet a man in Marwar Junction.
“So all I can tell you is that unless we get a strategy from you, you’re going to get a strategy from us,” McCain said at the time.

John McCain has a very deep-rooted psychological urge to turncoat and back-stab people on his own side, and I find it VERY difficult to believe that he never acted in this manner during his time in Vietnam.

The commander of the American-led international military force in Afghanistan, warning that the United States and its NATO allies are facing a “stalemate,” told Congress on Thursday that he needed a few thousand additional troops to more effectively train and advise Afghan soldiers.
“We have a shortfall of a few thousand,” Gen. John W. Nicholson said in a sober assessment of America’s longest war to the Senate Armed Services Committee .
What the frick does he know about it, right?

BTW, the video above - and many more like it - were all taken 10 years ago, when US troops were about five times what they are currently.
We have been wasting time, money and lives in that shithole for a decade and a half now. When will we ever be finished 'training and advising' them?

The British Empire could not win there. The Red Army could not win there. You do not fight a ground war you hit them and leave.

I'm not sure his losing to Obama was a terrible thing. Not sure you can be more hawkish than he is.

McCain said he’ll seek a vote on his “strategy for success” in Afghanistan when the Senate returns in September and takes up the annual defense policy bill.
Good luck with that you piece of shite.
You're not going to get enough democrats to support that and not even all of the republicans either and it will get vetoed by President Trump.
Your vote is dead on arrival.

Arizona Sen. John McCain declared Thursday that “America is adrift in Afghanistan” as he unveiled a war strategy of his own that includes more U.S. combat forces and greater counterterrorism efforts.

Why are we in Afganistan again?

John McCain is just a war Pig that needs God to strike the hour

McCain has a very strong psychological trait that urges him to back-stab his own side and to work for the enemy side.
I find it very difficult to believe that this trait was not present during his years of Vietnam service.

quote:I never really thought about this until now, but if I was living there, I don't think I would want to become a soldier, especially with the expectation that the far more powerful forces training me, who have had a hard time themselves, will be leaving. But the bad guys won't be.

So it would seem that the pool of soldiers is not going to be among the most ideal.

But McCain has grown increasingly impatient. During a committee hearing in June, he told Defense Secretary Jim Mattis that he had been confident the Trump administration would deliver a plan for Afghanistan within a month or two after taking office.
Interesting. Trump was confident McCain and his minions in Congress would get Obamacare done within a few months too, but McCain took it upon himself to single-handedly nix that. If I was Trump, I'd tell McCain that his warmongering desires for Afghanistan were "excessive expectations" and then proceed to do the exact opposite.
Frick John McCain and the horse he road in on.

I can understand you people not liking McCains political positions, but to knock him as a great American hero is just depraved. You really are sick little worms.

I haven't watched Southpark since college, but McCain is now officially the granddad (of which main character I forget) who does nothing more than grumble and groan.
He'll always be a war hero. But unfortunately he'll also be a quack.
