One of my close friends in highs schools dad was the head of the ATF in our state. He was a decent guy but the Kind of guy that drank scotch every night but thought marijuana was “the devil”. If he only knew how much of it was consumed in his basement he would have a heart attack.

Yes, I happen to know several current and former FBI agents including a former top FBI guy in DC. All are very upstanding people and I'm happy to call them friends. Many are field agents, only the one guy I know was in the DC area, but that was years ago during Clinton and GW Bush era.
They all get an ear full all the time as the reason I don't really talk about things like this with them much. They are all MAGA though. Would trust my life and my families life with any of them.

Because if they're doing it on their own that makes it perfectly legit. It's like an insurance policy, remember? Why you would even attempt to deny it at this point is beyond me. The funny part of the story was that as fate would have it, a few years later I ended up seeing the husband at a Utah football tailgate. We recognized each other, and I asked him where "Aimee" (the G-Man's daughter and his wife) was. His response was, "We got divorced about a year ago." We had a good laugh and were tailgate buddies until we walked over to the game.
I think the FBI Agent father was just an a-hole regardless of his line of work, but that's the only FBI Agent I've crossed paths with. I'd imagine most would be right of center politically, especially out of DC in the field.

Yes, I do, an old High School teammate and among a trio of fantastic Americans that I am close with that live in Virginia. I don't want to give too many specifics, but he has progressed up the field in the ranks. He is pure MAGA and is horrified by the top layer of crusty shite infecting the FBI in D.C. He does not work in D.C., he is still out in the Field in a fairly high supervisory capacity elsewhere in the Commonwealth.

FBI friend is appalled by the swamp in DC. Here is what you must understand. Government employees who lean right (in any department) are often pressured to keep their politics to themselves because the Left has been so successful in demonizing what used to be just simple common sense.
In my experience, republican government employees are more focused on doing their jobs. Leftist employees are more focused on using their jobs to further their agenda.

I know an old retired FBI guy. He told me how different it used to be under Hoover. Hoover would only hire Law School Graduates and Accountants, not every SJW with MSW degrees.

i work with 6, plus a couple atf agents. one of the fbi guys and one of the atf were very high up the chain. the rest were/are about as high as you’d expect anyone to be in a huge organization with 10-25 years experience. one fbi person is essentially a secretary
most you’d never know. two of them, if you saw them walking down the street, you’d know they were a fed or cop or something, just have the look
tbh i don’t really know anyone’s politics. nobody’s a rabid follower of anyone/thing. the fbi crew seemed to like comey. one of the atf told me he voted for trump but only because he couldn’t cast a vote for hillary, undecided on 2020. this may be hard to believe but outside of here i rarely talk politics.
tl/dr - the ones i know are just regular people working to provide for themselves or their family. none are involved with the deep state far as i can tell

Yes, I actually was sent a copy of an email acretited FBI agent sent to the FBI. He told me that he was always so proud to tell people he was with the FBI and for the first time ever in his life he was ashamed of the FBI and now just tells people he was a cop. He emailed that to the FBI. They are truly a disgrace.
