Anyone else noticing a political divide about how serious this is?

Social media seems to show this pattern.
I like Trump’s policies and feel like this virus is akin to a serious flu. I don’t think we should be closing business over this. Especially mandated by the government. I’ve followed the numbers hard for 3 weeks. It’s serious but not scary. This feels politically motivated by the left.

What are you on the political spectrum and how do you see this currently?

How did the left convince the rest of the world to go along with this elaborate plot to make Trump look bad?

It’s wishful thinking in both sides. Conservatives wish for it to be gone quickly so they can get back to work and the economy can get rolling again and Trump wins in a landslide. Liberals want to stay home, get paid, and they believe Trump’s chances take a hit as well if this lingers.

This isn't a hoax by the left. None of this is happening because the left wants to use it against Trump. The entire fricking planet has shutdown over this thing.

That means that the entire world is full of retarded and hysterical pussies, not just the democratic party.

While there’s definitely a political component, I think it’s also driven by the fact that liberals are more likely to seek protections from the government.

Well yes

But liberals always make decisions based largely on emotions

So this is hardly surprising

I don't think this is the rub...the rub is that the lefty media is going to crank things to "11" immediately, when a "7" works to alarm folks and make it appear Trump is not leading well and to actually tank the good economy, as sad as it is, to put chinks in his armor as best they can.

The left knows they are screwed without taking every opportunity to do this given who they have running against Trump for the time being.

Media has created the panic, panic has created the shutdown.

Who owns the media?

You're aware that his guidelines pretty much closed businesses, right?

Well they were hammering him on covid before it was big. Not sure they could foresee a crash. They sure don’t seem to mind letting things slow.

political divide

Democrats want to spend us into oblivion. Republicans (save the libertarian wing who are despised by the rest of the party) want to spend us into oblivion. The political divide is an illusion that allows those in Congress to sit around, drink cocktails at our expense and laugh at how stupid we all are.

You’ll notice it as it goes along, as much of everything in this country it’ll be divided tribally. You’ll notice the virtue signaling on the left when more of those on the right start to return to work, go outside, start activities in groups, return to daycares. Then it’ll escalate by those in the media, as they usually do, demonizing those who are returning to a regular way of life.

We’ve got a bit of the old rant nega-tiger vs. posi-tigers (aka “pumpers”) vibe working. I think this is the year we finally install a solid 4-3 virus defense.

Why do you people act like other countries are on Mars and no way related in terms of asserting political will?
