Anyway, you're right that numerous Louisiana based infantry groups have called themselves the "Louisiana Tigers". But the original is commonly accepted as being the Tiger Rifles, made up predominantly of Irish immigrants who volunteered during the Civil War.
For what it worth, I think these liberal whinny bitches need to let go of the witch hunt to erase history. Who gives a shite where the origins of the mascot came from. It's certainly not common knowledge, even among students and graduates. It's a Tiger for fricks sake.
