I think people are starting to see why DeSatis is so important as a Gov right now and NEEDS to the Co Chair of the RGA.
Fl just wiped out all the gains the dem put in place NATIONALLY in redistricting. Something that some GOPes were trying to give away.

I have zero confidence he'd do anything like this. He didn't come close in his 4 years in office. In fact he hired swamp lifers and deep state sympathizers like Bill Barr 3 years into his term.

DeSantis getting his map passed and folding district 5 in its current form is a big W. What a joke that district is. I live in the district 2 part of Tallahassee and less than a mile from my house is where district 5 starts. One side of a two lane road in a residential area is in district 2 and the other side of the road is in district 5 with people as far away as Jacksonville. We're all the same constituency and we should be in the same district like the new map has.

Things can change.
He's basically giving up his Presidential chances if that happens. If Trump runs/wins in 2024, whoever follows him in 2028 is likely DOA.
That puts Desantis's next shot at 2032 or likely 2036. Waiting 12 years when you're coming from a state position (and not a federal one like Congress) is a death sentence for Presidential aspirations.
