I don't care. It was the morally correct decision. Societies and cultures evolve. It was past time for it to happen.

there is a way for this to have occurred in a legally correct way: Constitutional Amendment

that's how you change the foundational laws of our country

That's ok, says Toddy. "I've evolved to the point of auto-asphyxiation."

But as to what you personally did wrong, there's not really an answer. It's more what your state and federally-elected politicians did wrong.
So... given your admission of their incompetence—why would you argue that people should be more, rather than less, dependent on said politicians for their healthcare?

No, it isn't. The structure is to provide health insurance to the largest number of people at the lowest cost in total, while still providing basic protections for things like PECs and EHBs and lifetime caps.
math isn’t your strength is it?

No,

unless he's voting his pocketbook

the ACA must provide personal gain, its the only thing that makes sense

And you still refuse to realize that the plan you had pre-ACA was useless in the event that you actually became sick and needed to use it. You weren't paying for a plan then, you were pretending to pay for one.

You are fake news.

The OP has posted his old plan on this board in the past. It did exactly what insurance is supposed to do - provide financial security in the event of an unforseen catastrophe. The "good" plans available now are useless if he gets sick.

For those getting screwed on the available plans, check into sharing ministries. Much more affordable.

The four major ones are Medishare, Christian Healthcare Ministries, Samaritan, and Liberty Healthshare.

A bronze plan

So you want him to be a free rider by buying a plan with an actuarial value of only 60%? That's pretending to have insurance. He would be in trouble if he got sick.

Just checked my quotes through the ACA website.

Some hypotheticals here since my wife is a teacher but we’re discussing her taking off when we have another kid.

Family of four. $65,000 income.

Found a gold plan for $550/month. $6000 deductible.

Not sure on other details. It said we were eligible for a tax credit of $562/month. Also mentioned something about our kids being eligible for Medicaid or a different insurance for children.

Again, not sure on the details or quality of care for my family, but $550/month isn’t so bad.

Not as good as $300/month with practically no deductible, which is what we have through my wife’s school.

The Democratic Party had gotten a very long way based on arguing morals instead of numbers.

I'm glad that people are wisening up to this tactic and acknowledging that forcing people's property away from them isn't morally correct

Because you literally might need them, and because as I explained above allowing them to exclude those who think they'll never need certain requirements from purchasing them drives the price up for those who do need it.

This is by far the dumbest thing I have ever read on the internet.

I read through this entire thread and I admire your patience when talking to people that literally think they know how to live your life better than you do because "you are too stupid to know better" and want to use the government to force upon you their view for your life.

These people are total assholes and want to claim the moral high ground.

Just want to point out that every single piece of shite member of congress who voted for this abortion of a law needs to be in prison and anyone who voted for a piece of shite member of congress who voted for this abortion needs to be beaten in the face with a fricking shovel.

They are worst type of “do-gooders” in existence. They make the religious do-gooders look gentile.

There is nothing do-good about the Liberal Trash. They're polluting the gene pool and destroying this country.
