I disagree. That’s what the general election is for. If you allow Dems to vote in Republican primaries, and vice versa, they can easily cast a “sabotage” vote by voting for the least desirable candidate from the other party.

I certainly don’t want a bunch of Dems voting for Cassidy all day just to ensure a RINO in the runoff/general election.

They were electioneering…

Once upon a time, you went to the polls at your local precinct to cast a vote in maybe a public school gym or a local firehouse. It was a civic duty and quasi religious occasion. You saw friends, neighbors or maybe other voters you hadn’t seen since the last election. If there was anything said at all, it would be limited and might involve the weather, family, or sports. You were there to exercise the franchise and reaffirm your devotion to what separates us from the pagans. I would not have acquitted myself as well as you managed that situation.

Register as No Party instead of Independent. No Party can choose which party to vote for, but they have to stick with that part through the runoff.

It's a self-delusion factor crafted to give themselves self-esteem by trying to convince themselves and others that their unattractiveness is by their own choice. This gives them a sense of control by covering their natural unattractiveness with the extra unattractiveness they've added on so they can act like all of their unattractiveness is by choice.

I understand. In other words who I vote for is narrowed down when it should be no one's business.

Great post, but 'aging hippies' reminds me of something. Beatniks and Hippies from the 50s and 60s were kinda the opposite of modern democrats. They were very into freedom of speech and didn't try to censor anybody. They were not asking the govt for free food, housing, etc. They just wanted to 'do my thing.' They were tolerant of people who chose another path: 'Whatever floats your boat, man.'

Yes. That’s what the woman went bat shite about. She kept choosing no party on her selection (which isn’t reported out loud) and refusing to listen to anyone that if she picked no party on her form, that she would only get to vote on the family court judges and the amendments.

I’m a republican registered - so I just signed the rolls and the machine showed me a a Republican ballot.

I am independent and all I had to do was fill out a piece of paper saying I wanted to vote in the R primary and that by doing so it would not change my registration. Another dude behind me did the same thing

I did this today as well

It seems to me that the hippies of those days and the screeching banshees of today are so often the same people.

An interesting commentary on the human condition.

That’s because the feminist claim what real femininity is, is toxic to women. Things like cooking, raising children, taking care of a home, being a good partner to your husband.

This. Feminist are miserable because they are rejecting their natural biological instincts. For the same reasons a man who isn’t the breadwinner and stays at home to raise the kids while the wife works is miserable. It’s not our God intended role. God made us to be wired in such a way that we must fulfill our roles as intended along with have a relationship with God. That is the path to peace, happiness and success.

They can … in the general election.

Open primaries are really dumb. Our hybrid system is dumb, and this coming from an independent.

Where is the US Constitution does it say a citizen of the USA must be in a party to vote for someone running to represent them?

I avoid party membership like the plague.

It doesn’t because there is no right to vote in the constitution.

But, again, everyone gets to vote for whoever they want in tne general election (the one that actually matters) - I guess you missed that part of my post.

But it makes absolutely no sense that someone not registered for a political party would be allowed to vote in that party’s primary to determine the party’s candidate. It’s quite literally the party making the decision.

Me too but that choice has no bearing on the substance of the issue.
