So my neighbor and I went to vote today.

We are both registered Republicans. I am registered accordingly bc I’ve always believed you have to pick your foxhole.

We were standing in line trying to guess party affiliation. We’re watching all these aging hippies walk in and out- so it seemed fairly obvious.

I went into the booth (Fleming if you must know, but I think Letlow ultimately takes it bc she and Fleming end up in a runoff and Trump’s endorsement will carry her, but whatever).

As we’re standing in line there was one chick we had pinpointed as R. Until . . .

When I was in there voting on the Amendments, which required a little more brainpower bc some of them are awkwardly stated, despite my plan. . .my friend and disguised leftist had a conversation where she advised that she’s registered no party so she can vote for everyone.

My friend goes into booth red. Disguised leftist has another “let herself go” angry compadre show up - also a “no party.” A frat guy was also in line.

Disguised leftist was pissed bc her ballot showed nothing. She was demanding to be able to vote in both primaries. The volunteer democrats who man the sign in (I mean one lady at my table appeared ro be maybe a registered R) were attempting to explain to this woman who was practically signing we shall overcome at this point - that she could select which party ballot she wanted to vote in. She was having none of it and practically calling the police.

Just then her “I’m so above taking care of my hair bc in this house hate has no home - the fricking tell tale sign of a Democrat woman - it’s an “i don’t dye it or condition it bc I’m above doing such things bc my look says I don’t care what anyone thinks while I’m trying to project I don’t care what anyone thinks and I am a man-repellant who hasn’t had a date since 1979 and I’m still angry about it.

Anyway - these two wrinkled khaki shorts women who have given up on life except to demand abortion at all time start demanding that they be allowed to vote in both parties.

I tried to step in bc the lawyer in me couldn’t resist, and said, “I think if it says no party you can still vote in the party primary, you just have to pick which ballot.” They were having none of it.

Angry feminist # 2 starts angrily texting who I can only assume to be Marc Elias or possibly her local DSA chapter shouting “this is why we recall all in a huff.”

Lawsuit incoming by a bunch of leftists who want to vote for Cassidy and whatever the frick Democrat is even on the ballot for senate and probably Cleo (even tho they’re too stupid to realize that under rhe unconstitutional map they don’t live in Cleo’s old district- but Letlow’s).

fricking morons. Liz, if you’re reading this, I’m happy to testify. Both about how they were electioneering within 100 ft of a polling place about Landry’s recall (which he’s been a disappointment but I refuse to let the terrorists win, so good luck with that), and as to their obvious intent to vote in 2 primaries so whoever they feel most aligned with their drum circle in my political party can stick it to the orange man.

God I hate feminists. Nothing makes me more grossed out than a woman who lets herself go in such a manner. Sorry honey, but the quarterback was never going to take you to the prom. I’m even more sorry that 40 yrs later, you’re still pissed about it.

Ditto.

Have you ever noticed that feminists are almost never feminine?

That’s because the feminist claim what real femininity is, is toxic to women. Things like cooking, raising children, taking care of a home, being a good partner to your husband.

They just try to make themselves as hideous as possible.

I’m like honey, just bc you’re sixty, doesn’t mean you have to look washed up. Put on some pearls and lipgloss and show some goddamn respect for yourself.

When we left, we saw this skinny looking man in a Volvo station wagon rearranging some stuff in it - who was obviously the unfortunate love interest of one of these shrews. That dude has never changed a tire in his life and is about to have a fricking miserable car ride.

You can still vote in primaries

I am independent and all I had to do was fill out a piece of paper saying I wanted to vote in the R primary and that by doing so it would not change my registration. Another dude behind me did the same thing

Was this person stupid or did the people in the polling place not do their job and explain it to them?

ETA: I just read the rest of your post. She was clearly a moron who shouldn't be allowed to vote

The superior BR zip code

Sounds like you happened upon some of the esteemed professors that live in that zip code because of the close proximity to LSU. They’ve made Superior on Highland unpleasant for us many times. Drunk and obnoxious.

There are also so many “professor adjacent” that live around here. It’s fricking insufferable. They also congregate at Trader Joe’s with their reusable bags

I am an independent and can not vote in a primary election unless an independent is running.

I do agree a person should not have to join a party to be able to vote for someone running to represent the person.

Yeah, I grew up in that zip code and my parents are still there. There’s always been a bit of a leftist overlap because of the college, but they seem to be a lot more vocal than I remember.

You can vote in a Louisiana primary- you just have to sign a paper selecting which party’s primary you would like to cast a vote in.

I was a hard yes.

I think the only way to fix the problems with public education in EBR parish is to starve the beast.

Big sign at my polling place: La 6th District Congressional race has been cancelled.

There was something happening when I went to vote.. Mother.. father and a couple of kids.. All looked like they needed a bath and one kid looking like a gender bender... They had a discussion with the commissioner then all had to sign a separate piece of paper to vote.. The commissioner thanked me for my patience... I have no idea what that was all about...
