The Eighth Amendment.
Now if the Angola criminals were forced to work on the farm while nude or while guards beat them with chains, there may be an 8th Amendment argument. But just working isn't cruel nor unusual.
Do you even actually think about what you're posting?

You could try reading the OP, friend.

I did. Stop deflecting.
And I'm not your friend.
And I'm not your friend.

...and also because the government tells them that everyone in Angola is guilty.
There are ALL KINDS of ways to get into Angola, not all of which require committing a felony.
It's funny how when the government is doing what they want, government is perfect. But when government isn't doing what they want, it's totally corrupt.

What percentage do you think are fully innocent?
What “all kinds of ways” does one find oneself in Angola? Are these people not getting trials?

But more to OP...frick 'em...23 hours a day in a cell...1 hour a day in the yard.
Within a week most would be asking to work.

Then why are you asking questions that were answered in the OP?

Then what is, pray tell, wise one?

Get a trial?
This guy got a trial:
...and was even found guilty. What does that mean? The criminal justice system is perfect?

What’s your point?
Was he sent to serve time in Angola?

There even all kinds of ways to be convicted of a felony when someone didn’t actually commit one too. The primary way: being poor.

Read the whole post, answer the questions, and there is (probably) your answer.

Why doesn’t every crime carry a life sentence?
Because not all crimes inflict the same damage to society. This discussion has sailed over your head. As usual.

Very very simple.
Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.
Also, there's an easy solution if they aren't already doing it: If you don't like it you can stay in your cell.

Well, at least you got the no husband part right.
