Betty Lynn who played Thelma Lou, liked the show so much that she moved to North Carolina and lived out her days in Mount Airy.

CANCEL Andy Griffith?

Not watching because one of the actors was a flaming progressive isn't cancel culture.

Cancel culture would be contacting advertisers and trying to get them to bitch to the TV station about having their ads being aired during the Andy Griffith show.

Nah, she wasn't a freeloader... she cooked meals for the prisoners in the jail, cooked and cleaned for Andy and Opie, and made pickles.

I think that comment was tongue-in-cheek.

Yet you are correct.

Indentured servant would be a more accurate description of Aunt Bee’s role in the Taylor household.

Yeah, I know. But I figured I'd answer with facts anyways just to be "that guy".

By all accounts, wasn't Clara better at both?

Here is some TAGS trivia sure to stump many casual fans: In the Season 1 episode “Andy and Opie Housekeepers”, what was the name of Clara’s little know evil twin sister? Look it up.

I think the Brady Bunch was pretty wholesome even though it came out later Mike Brady was into dudes and Greg Brady had the hots for his step mom. Alice was good people.

Marcia was a crack whore. Can't forget about that.

Ron may also be a liberal but he learned some lessons from that show eh.

I love that story, and I love you guys. In this insane world, I find myself gravitating toward my fellow goodwill hunters. Keep hope (Mayberry) alive. It’s not a place. It’s a state of mind. I and my daughter are there with you. Merry Christmas!

My parents (rip) told me and a lot of people a story of how the bumped into him, while visiting a country store in NC. They were on vacation, late 50’s early 60’s with my sister. Said he was the nicest, one of the most genuine person they had ever met. He was gracious to a fault. Fwiw
