Andrew McCarthy: The President Has the Constitutional Power to Restore Order. He Must Act.

The President must deliver a prime time address to the nation that will double down on Bill Barr's great statement today and demonstrate how the federal government will do everything it possibly can to put down these unlawful violent riots and arrest the agitators that fanned the flames of these riots.
These riots need to be put down with a show of force that is so overwhelming that it will make the criminals have second thoughts before participating in such criminal acts. And these riots won't end until good people decide to put that overwhelming show of force into action.
LAW AND ORDER!
quote:
What has happened over the last few nights in major cities of the United States is unacceptable. It has gotten worse because of federal and state passivity.
Law enforcement is a vital response to any riotous uprising. Indeed, I believe the failure to enforce the laws without apology from the start of the upheaval last week has fueled its ferocity. It would be naïve to claim that much of the violence, which is being incited and coordinated by radical groups, might not have happened anyway — these groups are always on a hair-trigger, pouncing on any opportunity to make mayhem. But how badly things get out of control has a lot to do with the resolve of state and federal law enforcement. The laws do not enforce themselves.
quote:
That said, law enforcement on its own is inadequate to restore order once order has been lost. Police and prosecutorial offices simply do not have the resources to quell widespread seditionist violence. Consequently, other provisions of law must be considered.
Under Article IV of the Constitution, the United States guarantees every state a republican form of government, protection against invasion, and — on request of the state government — protection from domestic violence. In furtherance of this provision, Congress enacted legislation, most notably, the Insurrection Act of 1807, which empowers the president “to suppress, in any State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy.” Obviously, suppressing such attacks requires deploying the United States armed forces as needed.
Following Hurricane Katrina, the Insurrection Act was beefed up to enable presidents to respond to natural disasters, public-health emergencies, terrorist attacks, and other catastrophic conditions.
quote:
What has happened over the last few nights in major cities of the United States is unacceptable. It has gotten worse because the federal and state governments have failed to convey the signal that order will be maintained and the rule of law enforced.
That must end. The president and governors must work together to restore order, including by deployment of the military where that is necessary. The Justice Department and state law enforcement, particularly the FBI and its Joint Terrorism Task Forces, must make it clear that lawbreakers will be arrested and serious crimes will be vigorously prosecuted. Anti-America must be made to understand that America has had enough.

No shite.
And guess what? The cities that are not taking shite tonight are not getting any shite.
Those that are burning have been standing there watching the criminals do it.
And Sentrius would definitely be screaming "Dictator!".
fricking joke of a poster.

I'm a limited government conservative, not an anarchist.
What's happening right now is anarchy and a total insurrection that threatens the safety and livelihood of our communities.
The time for dialogue and politeness is well over.

You realize this is martial law right?
This is how we go from protests about a guy getting killed to a national violent referendum on Trump.
You think that is helpful?

Trump should do a presidential address and start it, “Ladies and gentlemen, a storm is upon us........”

Why have the states failed to maintain law and order?
Why does the federal government have to handle these state issues ?
Tell me about the state’s leadership and their responsibility to LAW AND ORDER.

He shouldn't do anything until the governors request that he does. Just like with the hoax virus TRUMP is leaving it up to the states.
He should though announce that there will be no bail-out money for states that allowed rioting to occur.

Talk to the nation AFTER Antifa is officially designated a terrorist organization, not before.

The Mayors and Governors are failing to act as urgently and adequately as needed and refuse to do is what is needed to put these violent riots down. It is their inaction as to why their communities are burning.
Trump could literally copy almost verbatim President Bush's speech for the 1992 LA Riots. YouTube
Bush was big on Law and Order and vowed to use whatever means necessary to put down the violence and he did just that.

Here are the time stamps for each line of the sample from RIOT - The Mob
0:29 Tonight I want to talk to you about violence in our cites
3:06 Its been the brutality of the mob
3:12 I will use what ever force is necessary, to restore order.
12:35 The violence will end

Politically, Trump should do nothing. These protesters don’t realize they’re handing the election to Trump on a silver platter.

McCarthy is asking Trump to save the Democrats. He’s asking for a life preserver.
The Democrats don’t want to crack down, which they have to, because it would fracture their coalition.
If Trump steps in, then it’s no longer their responsibility, and they can even blame him for whatever further violence occurs.

This is on another scale...
If this happens things are going to get ratcheted up to something not seen since Reconstruction.

If you put political considerations before law and order and the stability of your communities, you're not fit for public office.
It's been reported that one of the reasons why Trump has been tamped down in his public comments is Jared Kushner and RINO buddies are worried that any forcible response will hurt their "minority outreach" and that's something straight out of the Jeb! GOP.

I'm curious to see if DHS comes into play at some point after ANTIFA being declared a terrorist group.
POTUS has to be very careful with any actions he might take. As long as riots are limited to property destruction, I don't see him doing much. If national security comes into play, then he may take some action.

There's no shortage of Dems on full display of incompetence. Let them fail and reach out with national guard rather than using active duty troops and Insurrection Act. It's not needed (yet).
No one wins when active troops cross the Rubicon and engage their own citizens.

And that is exactly what the Dem mayors and governors are doing by allowing these riots to continue unabated.
When your enemy is making a mistake you don't stop them.
This and your support for Sessions shows your naivete.
