Attorneys say Brown backed up and tried to hit officers @WAVY_News

The family is basically claiming this, w/o coming out and admitting he did it.

Tried to drive away, lol.

If I can get my son in blackface to get roughed up by a cop, can we get paid too?

Hypothetical question of course...

I’m tracking with y’all now. I heard search warrant on fox and presumed they were in a house . As Gomer used to say,”Shazam!” I get it now

his rap sheet showed high speed chases in the past.

also when you do this every day in or near crack houses; you presume the perp is higher then a kite and armed to the teeth.

it sounds like their drug dealer crack meth head son was getting arrested and tried to run the sheriff's over. I highly doubt he was killed for doing nothing.

They are claiming he was shot in the back. That could be untrue or there could have been officers in front but try not to be shocked if they just did a dumb thing.

his parents and lawyers are saying 'his hands were on the steering wheel'; they fail to say- because he was backing up or forward; & thought the podunk sheriff wouldn't dare stop him.

I was raised to respect lawful civil authority. I've got not beef with the post office.

Now, in these dangerous times, I find it appalling and scary that civil authority is turning on law abiding citizens. So now I've got a message for them:

Public records show a history of convictions for drug dealing by Brown, and he was arrested in November 2020 on drug charges.

In 2004, Brown was convicted of speeding to elude arrest. Between 2006 and 2008 he was convicted of multiple misdemeanors for communicating threats and one for violating an order of protection. He had earlier convictions for assault, domestic trespass and wanton injury to person or property, in addition to multiple property and drug crimes.

The Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were serving arrest and search warrants at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday when they came to Brown’s house on Perry Street.

“This is an arrest surrounding felony drug charges,” Chief Deputy Daniel Fogg said in a video statement. “Mr. Brown was a convicted felon with a history of resisting arrest. Our training and our policies indicate under such circumstances, there is a high risk of danger.”

When Brown tried to leave in a car, deputies fired at the vehicle, killing him and leaving the back window shot out, witnesses told The News & Observer.

Neighbor Demetria Williams describes what she saw when a Pasquotank County sheriff's deputy shot and killed Andrew Brown Jr., who is Black, on April 21, 2021 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The shooting is under review by the SBI. By Travis Long

Officials have not said whether Brown had a weapon or how many rounds were fired by deputies. Neighbor Demetria Williams said she heard gunshots and saw more than 14 shell casings on the ground.

Brown was shot in his back and crashed into a tree, according to police scanner traffic.

It happened a few hundred feet from P.W. Moore Elementary School, which was closed to students for cleaning on the day of the shooting, The N&O reported.

After Brown’s death, seven Pasquotank County sheriff’s deputies were placed on leave and three others resigned. A spokesperson has said the resignations weren’t linked to the shooting.

Wooten said the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation was taking over the case.

I also like how he says the fella was not violent and he has been arrested for breaking a restraining order, wanton violence, etc.

release the videos

I have no issue with that

Floyd wasn't released

then it was leaked

it changed public opinion

but the prosecution did such a good job using the mob to ensure a guilty verdict of a drug addict who had been hospitalized twice in march 2020

clown show America

I will always choose my side of town wisely...

I want nothing to do with people who can not think for themselves and see a situation for what it is

a criminal fleeing his arrest...and shi@ happens

They’re saying the guy was backing up towards the police. If so then I’m not sure there will be riots.

Nope. That's not allowed. They have tried and will continue to push for "equal" housing.
