I would imagine relators have a thousand ways around any restrictions, if any.

They were eligible for FHA loans until last year. I hope this really makes you angry. Temporary visa holders qualifying for 30 year loans
This is what happens when lenders turn around and sell the mortgages to Fannie/Freddie and FedGov backs the loans without regard to visa status, etc.

It does make me angry. It’s ridiculous.

Sound decision.
Best wishes to them.
Hopefully more will arrive to similar wise conclusions.

Someone let golden nugget know there’s a job opening.

Oh no! Now the company will have to hire an American! Either that or maybe the company will have to move to the 3rd world.

Yeah, I know, right?
The visa maxes at 6 years, and bought property.
Makes me think that the employer may have been giving assurances of keeping them here in country permanently

Sadly, any progress made will be reversed in a Dem administration

I hope he convinces his friends to join him.

It does. On a couple of levels. First is that it's obviously a property that could be housing a citizen and their family.
Second that the lending institutions seem to be running a foreclosure scheme, if/when deportation goes into effect. I mean, why lend, knowing the lendee isn't going to be around to fulfill the contract? Unless they're planning to get the payments, and then get the house back again.
Credit score. So many of us have to have responsibility for our credit score. This visa holder now has a pretty good claim against the impact on the credit score hit.
You owned a house that was foreclosed.
I was deported.
Oh.

In '08, we had a bunch of H1Bs in Atlanta have to fire sale the condos and Audis that they bought working at Big 4 accounting firms. They got canned, and had 30-60 days to leave the country. So sorry.

Heh.
If a seller told me they were having to sell due to having a visa expiration, my offer would make lowballers seriously proud.
I know they have to rush. I know they're gonna grab whatever cash they can, before they have to leave.
Of course I'm going to take advantage. I'm gonna get that property or car for as low as I possibly can. And in a case like this, I won't feel bad about the lowball. Not in the least.

I get your gist, but the big problem is that they're here. Sponging off the system is only slightly worse than taking an American's job.
