Those cars burned leaded gasoline.

And no fricks were given.

And guns were ubiquitous. And shocking as it is, schools & shopping malls were still safe.

So, did Dreyfuss ever put the wood on Suzanne Somers?

The funny thing about this movie is, it was released in 1973, and set in 1962, as a nostalgic look at the way things were. And 1962 was VERY different from 1973: cars, hairstyles, music, way of dress, technology, etc.

If you made such a movie today, you'd be fondly looking back at 2012. How different really on a visual, physical basis is life now from then? Not much.

I watched that movie 2-3 times in the theater when it was released, I was 14 years old and I thought that period was so long ago......it was only 11 years earlier.

What a vulgar question.

This crass and corporeal question is best left unasked because the memory of an infatuated young idealist chasing his dreams will live forever in our souls.

Indeed, the ethereal and romantic dreams that inspired us as young people can continue to inspire us as our life’s journey enters into it’s dotage:

Don’t even have to go back that far. The 80’s were the shite.

It was. And it's interesting to look back at old HS year books and realize there were no fat kids back then. The average American in 1960 consumed 2,500 calories a day. The average in 2000 rose to 3,500 calories a day.
