Raised 2 sons in small town USA. Oldest said it was like being raised in Happy Days' world.

Don’t even have to go back that far. The 80’s were the shite.

Caught a little bit of sixteen candles yesterday, and was having the same thoughts as in this thread.

As another poster kind of touched on, the 2000 so far really haven't been much different, at least in a legit good cool way cause the 20s being the decade of the trannies isn't going to something to be prideful of.

Pre-2k each decade had its distinct feel. Cooler times to enjoy. Hearing stories from the older gen about everything they had to do to stay entertained is fun. Sad that'll be lost soon enough. The white guilt boomer crowd has done a # while trying to ignore the good things during their youth. If it weren't for movies and tvs we wouldn't know much of it at all.

As a person who spent most my childhood in the 70’s, it wasn’t only the calories, it was activities.

We played outside whenever we weren’t at school or in trouble. We left our house and came home when the street lights came on. Riding our bikes, building hang outs, anything we could think of rather than being at home! We did this right after school and then all day during the summer.

It was a great childhood!
