Never say never. If you step away from your devices and shut off the news for a bit, you’ll realize a great deal of this “division” is an illusion devised by politicians and the media. My family still goes to church on Sunday, folks I pass on the street and in stores are friendly, I’m compelled to be a better person to help balance the scales... I know things seem bleak, but we can come back from this. Tune-out the media. Hell, it might not hurt to ditch this board now and again. No offense...

This is why we will not have unity, one side will not except their share of the blame, and will not compromise, while believing any opinion different then theirs is evil. I don’t know if the OP has children, but it helps me to focus on raising my kids and getting my house in order. The world will need all the good people it can get in the years ahead. All the craziness in DC has moved me toward God, which can’t be a bad thing.
