I guess we'll see how Amazon's recent willingness to put politics over their customers affects their prime subscription growth as the estimates in this article are updated. Many on this board have posted that they have cancelled their membership. If this is a significant enough national trend, it should show up in their revenue data.
As detailed in the article, prime subscriptions play an important part of Amazon's business, more than just the subscription revenue.

Prime membership is important to Amazon for several reasons. The retailer’s subscription revenue, largely made up of Prime membership fees, totaled $19.21 billion in 2019, a 35.2% jump year over year. Subscription revenue accounted for 6.8% of the company’s revenue, up from 6.1% in 2018 and 5.5% in 2017.

Prime is the top reason consumers shop on Amazon, according to a Digital Commerce 360 and Bizrate Insights survey of 1,000 U.S. online shoppers in June.

You are paying for shipping through your $130/yr fees. That might work out for you if you order a bunch of stuff but it probably doesn't for me.

I try to buy local as well. It’s better than sending my money to Seattle. Seattle is booming and local retail is hurting because of it.

Every online vendor I've ordered something from in the past year offers free shipping.

I use Amazon's site to browse for things I want or need, then I contact the retailer and buy it directly from them.
