Defending the Texas Republic: Great slogan

Trust me: Many Texans are aware of that. The West contingency has held multiple focus groups, with campaign language being a key focus.

I’m a one-issue voter, and West has gone on record as being in favor of a TEXIT vote: Texas Nationalist Movement
quote:

Lieutenant Colonel Allen West, Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, took on the issue of a TEXIT referendum on the Chris Salcedo Show and expressed his support for the vote.

In the lead up to West’s remarks, Salcedo mentioned that there are several Democrat-led initiatives to add states to the union. Salcedo wanted West’s take on the TNM’s current push for putting the issue of Texas independence on the ballot.

West stated that while he has previously said that Texas should remain in the union, he understands why more Texans are ready to see Texas reassert its status as an independent.

“The people here in Texas have a right to voice their opinions on a critical issue that they’re facing right now,” West commented.

He went on to explain HB 1359, the Texas Independence Referendum Act and reinforced the case that the TNM’s been making that it should be up to the people to decide. Citing the Texas Constitution, he made it clear that issues of this magnitude belong in the hands of the people and not just the elected class.

“I don’t understand why anyone would feel that they need to prevent people from having a voice in something that is part of the Texas Constitution… You cannot prevent the people from having a voice.”

I’ll give him this: He’s been a strong vocal proponent of conservative policies, when and where his family has remained silent.

1000% accurate. Not many people follow local TX politics but just about every article about him here (as you know) is “why is he siding with Trump when the rest of his family didn’t?!”

Yeah, he's got no leg to stand on.

Personally I think he's a better candidate than Abbott. But given the Democratic shift in Texas in recent years, he still is unlikely to beat McConaughey, or Beto, or MJ Hegar, or whoever gets that party's nomination.

Yeah...they said that about the 'orange man' too. You probably believed that too.

It's West's to lose. Same thing I said about Trump when he came down the elevator.

They were right about Trump in 2020 and beyond.
He’s done.

Negative, I always thought Trump had a chance. I think he has a great chance in 2024 too. I just don’t see people ousting Abbott

I'm a bit surprised you support him on the count of you being a separatist and him being a transplant. Shouldn't Texas be run by native Texans only?

Not at all!
On the contrary, some of our greatest Texans are transplants.

Don’t know much about this guy as I’m a transplant myself, but if you all consider him a believer and supporter of traditional conservative values, I’ll look more into as the elections role closer. I’m moved to Texas for the steer, not the queers.

Fair enough.
I enjoy Rogan’s interviews and find him to be both humorous and earnest.
The guy gets Texas and knew what he was getting into when he relocated.
But your take is understandable.

Nah.

Your side keeps saying this but never get the results you claim are just around the corner. While the dems are increasing in Texas, the republican gains are matching them vote for vote. For every lib that moves to Texas there is another conservative moving here as well. For every fruitcake that colors his hair purple there is a new gun loving baw moving in.

In 2016 Trump got 4,685,047 votes.

In 2020 Trump got 5,890,347 votes.

In 2024 Trump or Desantis will get over 7 million votes.

You better hope your buddy biden passes amnesty soon or you will miss your window of opportunity.

You consider Rogan and the rapper great?

Great if you are a flaming liberal I suppose. Dont compare those idiots with Davy Crockett.
