I'll say that few govt employees understand the magnitude of what they've done to the rest of us with this shutdown.

As with everything, they'll be slow to react.

That's just silly.

90% of govt employees arent making those decisions....just following orders like everyone else.

Instead... if govt is gonna make decisions for private entities...the govt should be responsible for any loss of revenie

Even more than that. I’m a retired state LEA and many of my close peers are working in corporate security or are training privately for well over 6 digits a year.

How butt hurt would the OP be if those govt employees stole private sector jobs bc they are willing to work for less?

First motherfrickers that need to go home without pay is fricking osha. Those frickers are the gestapo
The most out of control government agency there is along with the “safety professionals “ that think they are gods on the job and control everything. They are completely untouchable and cannot be confronted in any way. They are always right, regardless.

Rant over. Sorry bout that.

You left no room for exemptions. I am a public employee serving the chronically and seriously mentally ill. You are saying you want me and my co-workers to shut the door and let those individuals deteriorate?

My comment was tongue in cheek.

But I stand-by my argument that if the economy contracts (as is happening), then govt should likewise (but that isn't happening).

FTR, I once asked a NASA site CE, how many hours a day the average NASA engineer works. He paused and then said 2.

And I have no axe to grind, but there is a wrong that needs to be righted.

Do I need to go ahead and reply with a biting sarcastic a-hole response to how stupid this statement is, or are you already aware of it and we can just let it go?

You gonna bitch when there are 20% fewer people working at the dmv the next time you have to go? It’s bad enough now, I can only imagine how it would be with 20% fewer workers.

So you’re for not paying US military forces currently serving on active duty overseas because JBE and Pelosi made a decision you don’t like. Seems fair enough, I don’t know why anyone would want to change your mind.

I think you should contact him and see if y"all can find a way to improve productivity. That would be a win-win.

He's smart. You're smart. I'm sure you two can figure it out.

And you can keep your misguided sarcasm to yourself. I don't want to hold you up. Sounds like your contractors are waiting

So what would you propose?

Could we hire more unmotivated, inefficient workers?

They’ve never complained about productivity in the 5 years I’ve been working for dozens of contractors. In fact, they just keep sending me more money

I do appreciate your candor in admitting your misguided bull$hit though

Sounds like he may have fixed the problem without your help.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program . . .

If the economy contracts, so should the government. Yes? No?
