They’re all getting out. It is impossible to know every veteran, but I know close to 100 through some different organizations I’m involved with and every single one says under no circumstances will any of their children serve in the military.
Has that ever happened before? I don’t think so. An entire generation of veterans that don’t want their own children to serve.

I mean, it’s not as if we actually believe in the whole right to self government in the Declaration of Independence anymore, amongst many other things long associated with an actual free people, so why not? They need good obedient statues. We wouldn’t want to send any mixed messages that America exists solely on the backs of the will of the people to choose their own government for themselves, or anything crazy like that. Stop thinking so critically, shut up, and follow. That’s the correct message.

I hope the army will remember
Southern men don’t need them around anyhow.

Good lord
Your mental illness is just as severe as the mental illness that brought about the name changes.

They will just rename Bragg after the current New York DA.
They are doing the Bragg renaming ceremony in June, it will be Fort Liberty. It should be Fort Chigger but that is a different discussion.

This will make that final monologue by Rambo in First Blood funnier when he says “I wish I was back at Bragg!”

Do you believe the early colonists were “traitorous swine?”

The winners can do without southern white guys going forward then.

When you frame an issue so broadly, it's nearly impossible to make any headway at all. We could also talk about Union Generals and Colonels that did Trail of Tears kind of stuff, but that would be inconvenient. Does anyone Custer much anymore?
So, let's talk about two gents, the first being Robert E. Lee. While he chose to fight for Virginia, he was one of the most honest, honorable dudes, even going back to his time at the Academy. Honest to a fault. Stonewall Jackson was similar. Reading his biography was exhausting because of how much integrity he had. You knew the ending to every encounter. That deserves something.
We named a f*(@# submarine that will be in service for more than 30 years after Jimmy Carter. We named a destroyer after a dude that killed nearly 135 dudes (DDG-56) due to questionable circumstances. I got an earful from my Navy parents on a lot about that incident. The video of the disaster was shared in USN training videos on how not to die in the 80s during damage control.

Nobody really cares what the name was. People, like myself, that were stationed at Ft. Bragg care about the legacy of the place and what it means to the millions of people that passed through there.
The fort isn't about the Confederate general, it's about every drop of sweat, every jump and every mile marched by all the troops stationed there.
