It is a symbolic message to southern whites - “You aren’t needed in the armed forces.”

It is only reflecting the training they have been giving them for quite a while now.

They are needed for competent armed forces and to make recruiting needs.

They are NOT needed if the plan is to have a military loyal to the lefty nutbars in charge since Obama cashiered a ton of high ranking brass.

And you’re curious as to why the US military is as inept as it is with the training incidents of late… promotion due to equity quotas as opposed to earning the rank…. It all rolls down hill from the CIC to the grunt….

Promoting for loyalty / quotas over competence doesn’t end well.

Look at the Six Days War and how the various Arab countries got arse rammed, mainly because of officers appointed due to connections and everyone having their own fiefdoms to protect rather than fighting for the country.

Egypt got destroyed in the early hours of the war and the military couldn’t even be honest with each other about their status afterward.

They will just rename Bragg after the current New York DA.

Don’t need to celebrate losers. The winners write the history.

Not sure where you're coming from here, the Army Times has published promotion scores and who made the cutoff with no apparent DEI going into the scores for decades. I think it was the 90s when at least the Army removed photos from ROTC service selection packets, etc. I remember specifically where the nursing student that was 6'4" and wore a size 56? coat and was a nursing student got assigned infantry, because scary huge black man. The skinny 5'7" Hawaiian that went to Air Assault school and wanted infantry... got assigned to Medical.

Now, promotion above O-4 has *always* been to prefer sycophants and arse kissers, but this behavior was also described as happening before WWI in the British military in "The Psychology of Military Incompetence." Fantastic book, I had a ton of "are you F@#$&*%$ kidding me moments while reading.

There are a number of articles on this, but the usual rule of "never attribute to malice that which can be chalked up to incompetence," still applies.

More nebulous is the impact of the service’s new human resources platform, the Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army, which launched Army-wide in January. Users in social media forums such as Army Reddit reported seeing their points drop after the platform’s launch, and others asked about them in a Feb. 23 town hall event with platform developers.

The shortfall was so widespread that the service issued a military personnel message detailing workaround instructions.

Some problems lie with the platform.

Its “known issues” page detains a series of data errors that resulted in promotion point shortfalls — fitness tests, correspondence courses, and graduation honors at military schools initially incorrectly fed into the new promotion points system. The Army has resolved many of these complications, the page claims.

I don't want the armed forces to have nothing but enemies in it. frick that. I hope there are some patriots in there now, waiting to do the right thing when the time comes.

Nobody really cares who Braxton Bragg was. People, like myself, that were stationed at Ft. Bragg care about the legacy of the place and what it means to the millions of people that passed through there.

The Bragg name isn't about the Confederate general, it's about every drop of sweat, every jump and every mile marched by all the troops stationed there.

So it doesn’t really matter if the name is changed?
