California is also the biggest agricultural producer in the US. Its not just "tech" (which would immediately leave CA and move to the states if we kicked CA out). Lot harder to move that much food production

Who says we need to kick out ALL of California? Just kick out the coastal counties. And who says those coastal counties need to be an autonomous nation-state? Put their asses under military occupation.

Would Calgary or Edmonton get the NFL franchise?
Posted on 7/31/25 at 11:37 pm to 3Son
Would be an amazing addition, but they seemed culturally split. YUGE Indian and Pakistani populations…truly massive in large cities like Calgary and Edmonton, but people seemed hard-working. Mark me down as a maybe.

Have some new neighbors who just moved here from Canada. I mentioned this idea to them yesterday and they told me it's impossible because Alberta belongs to the indigenous people

No, I dont think either would. I think both metros are under 2 million people
Would be hilarious if the Flames or Oilers won the Stanley cup after becoming US franchises though.
1993 was the last year a Canadian NHL franchise won a Cup.

Sounds like eastern Ontario or Quebec types. You think American liberals are bad, watch out.

Give Canada all the liberals in the U. S.

But would the progs and Jeets leave to remain Canadian? There would have to be some assurances. But they have resources, & they are electing people who want to join Trumps vision of USA.
I like chaos.

Yes in ways they are conservative, but everyone in Canada is used to government as a big part of their lives. And they only know socialized medicine. Will be hard to remove that from their DNA.
And to switch to US they would have to give that up. Easy to give up the high taxes but those that can vote themselves benefits will…..

want Saskatchewan, a corner of BC and Yukon as well, to complete a contiguous land route to Alaska. I'll take the Northern Territories too.
Let's give them the coastal area from Portland to Seattle (sorry, SirWinston), and all of Minnesota in return.

Calgary and Edmonton are not large cities and they’re vastly different from Toronto. Have you ever been to any of these places or just regurgitate echo chamber bs?

Agree. I don't care if they join the US or just separate. Either is fine by me. Fingers crossed.

Can we swap Alberta for Minnesota. I'd take Saskatewan? too

Well, not exactly the best example. The people of SoKo get what they want, but the people of NoKo get what KJU wants. The majority of NoKo citizens would abscond for other nations if they were allowed to see the truth and not legitimately fear torture and death for even questioning the word of Supreme Leader.
But I do not disagree that balkanization would make the US happier for everyone. Basically everyone outside of the 2% of land mass in the US that consists of big cities, are people who at very least lean conservative. Blue metropolitan areas have changed this entire country for the worse for far too long.

Correct. One of my brothers-in-law is from Alberta. He and I were talking the other day and he was telling me how much more liberal Alberta is from Montana (where he now lives) and the US in general. It would be guaranteed Democrat senators and representatives.
