I forgot about that.

That was a shitty experience for everyone.

The one silver lining I had from that is that it would lead to giving the Alabama Democrats a pulse. Not because I want the Democrats to win, but it would at least force the GOP to work for it. I think the state got into a shitty cycle where all a Republican candidate had to do was win one primary and they were guaranteed two terms in office and a leg up on the next one. That's how Ivey got to where she is. Its what Twinkle is trying to do. Its why Bentley felt like he was invincible.

I think your buddy is right.

Going to sound crazy but Ivey taking over for Bentley is probably what forced Tuberville out. The donors Tubby was going to count on immediately went to her because she was the incumbent.

I see Ivy picked up the Alabama Retail PAC endorsement last week, which surprised me.
I said I would never vote for her because of her handling of the special election for Sessions' seat.

Battle concerns me. He's said some things that lead me to believe he is north Alabama-centric, and would ignore the needs of southwest Alabama, particularly when it comes to funding for road and highway maintenance.

His response post tornado was awful. Constant waiting on studies of this and that before allowing affected businesses to repair and reopen. Several people I know had businesses that were affected and they had insurance (including loss of use) but Walt was a proponent of waiting for a bunch of studies that those people ran out of time and money waiting.

His pushing for the rebuilt areas (businesses) had to rebuilt about a foot from the damn street (see 15th street) so it would look more "big city urban", however it looks stupid as shite and is dangerous. Cars moving at 60 MPH a few feet from people eating in a restaurant. Parking had been in front of these business and now the parking is on the other side of the street. A car is going to run into a place like Hokkaido and kill a bunch of people one day.

He spend every fricking penny the city had in rainy day savings. On a bunch of crap.

He ran previously as a republican but now running as a democrat.

He has the approval of "moms demand action" anti 2nd amendment group.

I could go on... but a fly sitting on a pile of shite is more qualified that Walt.

I don't think Tuscaloosa City races have political parties.

Tuscaloosa city does not run partisan labels. All are officially independent. But, Walt has been a Democrat for years and that's been long known in Tuscaloosa.

I was hoping Roy Moore would run. But seriously, Ivey just seems like your garden variety Montgomery establishment politician. I'll vote for whomever the R is in the general.

Based on that first sentence, I assumed you were a Democrat.

Ivey just released this ad about Confederate monuments. LINK

I guess it’s better than Tim James going all in on making license tests English.

I have heard that also. If so, she won't get mine.

Alabama politicians have two things going for them: an amazing ability to find new ways to pander to the lowest possible denominator, and absolutely no sense of shame.

This state is a joke. This is how we wound up with such winners as Wallace, Hunt, Siegleman, and The Luv Gov. Heck Bentley got elected because he was the Bahr’s dermatologist. Ugh.

He's busy e-begging to cover his lawyers' fees.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Moore (and maaaybe Dean Young) are the only two Republicans who could possibly lose this race.
