I feel the same way, but I think he's ruined his chance by jumping into this race. He's not going to get a Trump endorsement for president now, and the "moderates" who might find the "I ran against Trump" angle appealing won't vote for a Republican ever anyway.
For a guy who usually makes great decisions, he ran with some really bad advice on this one.

I’m saying Trump didn’t file 23 lawsuits and certainly didn’t go 0-23. What the pleading says is factually incorrect.
