Define “doing very well”.

Because the way I define it, I’m taking a royal arse-kicking. Same for everyone I know.

Not even nearly at the same rate of increase of rents and home prices.

So let's see, one of the big tickets items of the IRA was to accelerate the move to domestic produced EVs by investing $400B. In the last week both GM and Ford, the 2 largest domestic manufacturers, have announced that they are curtailing their investment and focus on...wait for it...EVs.

I overdraft 3 times in the past 18 months or so on the same budget/savings transfers. I haven't done that in 20 years or so.

Confirms that there is a major inflation abduction act.

Rural fiber optic installation well under way.

Wishful thinking ….. not even the 1st or 2nd time it has been tried by Congress …. unsuccessfully.

It costs $50k to $75k per rural linear mile to run fiber cable, depending on whether it is aerial or buried …. and that doesn’t include the optical or network equipment to light it for use. Notwithstanding the massive supply chain shortages of cabling, optics, and related chip limitations .

Moreover, current telco/isp models gravitate toward customer density (profit) rather than service (reaching rural geographies) There simply is no money in it for the operators.

It’s a grift

I'm not buying this one.

Oh and my taxes increased by 36% and I made 5k more in 2022 than I did in 2021. But I paid 36% more in taxes

WTF are you invested in? I'm in a 500 index fund and a target fund and I'm down 15% from the high water mark.

Every month I transfer the same amount of money from my business to personal checking to live on that month. I used to have a good bit left over at the end of the month. That number has dwindled considerably and my spending habits really haven't changed.

Everything has gone up in price. If you can relocate to a LCOL area and keep the same income.....do it.

He mis read his Q card.

It was Retirement Savings Reduction Act rather than Inflation Reduction.

That is how it is affecting retirees.

Not embarrassed, no blinders, but I can count. Index funds move slowly, spreads the risk but has sawtooth effect on gains.

The FMOC is pausing on raising interest rates today, should tell you something about inflation.

I have enough, don't want for much because my needs are more than met.

Don't have to work at low skill jobs. Interaction with clients, customers, other data managers/system analysts enterprise system architects go fairly smoothly.

Keep the world working.

You won't convince me of your points and I won't waste anymore time explaining that my life is actually doing well. Many here don't like that others are happy because they are unhappy, childish.

Consumer still spending.

My 401K doing very well.

On balance my household is keeping pace if not over taking inflation.

Rural internet is small potatoes. It's not even worth mentioning in the grand scheme of our economy

Future construction projects are slowing down due to interest rates, especially new home construction. I work in the commercial credit industry FWIW

Wages are wayyyyyyyy down relative to inflation

Consumers are spending on credit cards. We're at record high balances. This is NOT good.

Jobs are always "available"

How much growth has your 401k experienced this year? And, what are you invested in?

Aka democrat voters. They had a bunch applauding Biden all over social media for doing something about the runaway inflation that he caused.

Can’t fix stupid.,

Well, in response, I’d point to the infrastructure projects completed or underway. Of course the House is trying to take away some of the Act’s funding as part of the continuing political theater.

So, is the IRS building roads now?

Yep. Weaponizing the IRS so they can do armed incursions into your lawn man's home because he didn't document his company's accounting inflows and outflows correctly is really beneficial.
