Not embarrassed, no blinders, but I can count. Index funds move slowly, spreads the risk but has sawtooth effect on gains.
The FMOC is pausing on raising interest rates today, should tell you something about inflation.
I have enough, don't want for much because my needs are more than met.

Rural fiber optic installation well under way.
construction jobs holding steady and sometimes increasing.
Wages increasing.
Consumer still spending.
Jobs available.
My 401K doing very well.
On balance my household is keeping pace if not over taking inflation....
