So Mrs. Wortham says they shouldn’t be labeled as a color, then Mrs. Matthews says “it’s enough that they have to deal with white supremacy, they shouldn’t have to deal with it from people of COLOR also”..

I remember an episode of Sanford & Son and Fred was in a Mexican restaurant with Julio (his neighbor) and Julio called the waiter 'negro' but didn't pronounce it like we're used to it being pronounced. Fred said to the waiter after Julio left "hey negro" (the way we're used to it)
