there's facts and then there are beliefs.

I just think we need to take a step back and cut out the “They did it first” justification for more witch hunts.

This was, and still is my biggest fear with what’s going one. Each side has their base. The base isn’t going to swing from the right to the left or from the left to the right when it comes time to vote. What wins elections are the voters in the middle.

When Charlie was murdered and the left base cheered, it infuriated those of us in the right base. We felt hurt, angry, and fed up with the bullshite of the left base. What it also did was wake up a ton of people in the middle to the evil of the left and their base. They instantly identified with our pain and saw the wizards behind the curtain on the left for who they really are.

Now we in the right base are going after anyone and everyone who even dares to have a differing opinion than us. We’re calling people’s places of employment and using mob justice to destroy people’s lives. Some of it is done justifiably so. The ones who cheered and danced on Charlie’s grave deserved what they got. But now it’s going a step further. It’s not just the dancing and cheering we’re going after. It’s anyone whose words can be spun to look like they are offenders. I’m not defending Jimmy in particular here because what he said was blatant misinformation. In the position he is in, he should face consequences for it.

What this is now doing is making those in the middle think that both sides are fricked up, and they are either going to go back to the middle or they are going to black pill and say frick it, let both sides eat each other to death. We’re losing all the momentum because, “they did it first.”

And the timeframe he references was the preceding weekend.

This doesn't matter but beyond that, what part of putting a bullet in the throat of one of the most powerful conservative voices in America comes across to you like it could have been a conservative shooter?

Or maybe English is their first language.

A lot of people are scoring political points from this, sometimes subtly, sometimes not. If that's all he said I couldn't fault it too much for accuracy.

But he plainly implied that the shooter was MAGA. You see to think the fact that he didn't explicitly do so changes what he was trying to communicate, but that just makes you the ackchually guy.

Once the guillotines start, it’s hard to stop them.

The left didn’t care until it was their oxen being gored.

Now we’re supposed to care harder about them than they ever will about us. We’re supposed to be the adults so that the adolescents can keep on plotting how to kill their parents. No thanks.

It doesn’t f’ing matter what he said or how you interpret. He was not arrested or sent to a camp. His free speech was intact. His show sucks and his boss knows the ramifications of him interjecting himself into the debate. They have every right in the world to fire the frick out of him for whatever reason they want. Free speech does not protect you from the free market. Stop trying to defend against these idiots.

This was going to happen eventually. The Democrat slush funds are being shut down. Now these companies can't afford to pay for the propoganda.

He was (wrongly) associated with conservatives at the outset. Do you not remember the tweets and reports from the left wingers talking about his conservative and religious upbringing? They were doing everything they could to paint him as a conservative, and conservatives rightly pushed back on that.

Liar.

Here's what you said:

quote:

Civil discourse is not possible with you people. Truth means nothing to you and youll say whatever it takes to advance your agenda

I don't even have an agenda.

You seem to think that just because I didn't vote for Trump, then I side with the murderer. That's false.

If by "you people" you mean the ones who:

...believe the federal budget deficit is the biggest threat to our economic prosperity.
...want to minimize the government interference in our lives.
...support the federal government protecting our rights as enumerated in the Bill of Rights, including those described in the 1st, 2nd AND 4th Amendments.

...then I am of those people.

Where is the lie here...?

"The MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it."

I watched that happen on these very boards.

Another valid interpretation, though, is that he was criticizing the right for basically coming up with any narrative they could as long as it denied even the possibility that he was MAGA.

No sane person would think that. Kimmel knew exactly what he was saying and what he meant.

I also guess you missed the part where he compared Charlie Kirk to a dead goldfish.

Should any government official have waded off into it and commented regarding the FCC? Nope. Because the people would vote with their feet, as has been happening all across all media.

All mentioning the FCC did was give ABC an out, make Kimmel a liberal martyr, and give the progressives a talking point.

I understand that Kimmel is something of a comedian, and as it was a part of his monologue, he was trying to ridicule Trump supporters. I also understand that he tried to do that often, with varying measures of success. In this case, it backfired on him.

But I didn't watch it live, and I haven't read anything from Kimmel regarding the quote, so it's hard for me to say definitively what his purpose was.
