An interesting tidbit I just discovered (that very well could have been discussed already in this thread):
There is a law in Kennesaw, Georgia, requiring heads of households to own a firearm. Specifically, the ordinance states that "every head of household residing in city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition," according to the BBC. However, this law has never been enforced, and many residents are unaware of it, according to Kennesaw's website. This guy seems like a typical mentally ill person.
One of my oldest and dearest friends went off the rails during covid. She fixated on the vaccine and pharmaceutical companies and became extremely paranoid. I was in contact with her parents about my concern for her, but they were/are in denial about it so I eventually had to just take the L and move on. I feel like the shooter probably did the same thing and maybe got pushed over the edge when his dog died.
