Well they own a part of this. How much? I don't know but I do believe there were failures on the part of local law enforcement to meet some of their responsibilities and to communicate the way they needed to.

The failure is the USSS and theirs alone. They had the ball and fckd it up...either through incompetence ot intentionally.
They are/were the captain of the ship and all that entails. They are not allowed to pass the buck.

He seems to be the most forthcoming testimony so far.
No amount of information is going to satisfactorily answer the questions everyone wants answered. It was a failure. What they should do is expedite the investigation and apply severe consequences for those responsible. And there is nothing in a congressional hearing that is going to accomplish those two things. All they're doing here is applying pressure, and so far, the pressure isn't resulting in action. And that's the frustrating part.

Hawley and Cruz showed this Director's defense. His defense seems partisan. He just evaded this current line of questioning.
