If the reason the attempt happened was because of how difficult it was to see Crooks then maybe they should've had people on that building. Jesus. This guy is way too defensive.

It’s such fricking bullshite. How often is a cop expected to protect the President? Unless you’re in DC, maybe once in a lifetime? Sorry, I’m not going to blame someone directing traffic for this shite. This was not their job to keep the President secure, but yours.

The cops jobs should be to keep everyone else safe, and I’m sure the cops mostly just assumed that the Secret Service would have a sniper on the single most obvious spot a sniper would shoot from.

Ronald Rowe Jr. I think I respect this guy. This whole thing is far more competent and fact based than I expected. I’m not used to seeing a Senate panel that is not an ideological clown show.

DV me now.

So it's Local LEO's fault?

That's how they're setting it up and if you had to concretely pick a failure between the Secret Service and local law enforcement in this. The failure would be local law enforcement.

I’m pretty sure it’s the other way around. Like 95% of the Butler PD will be voting for Trump, so I highly doubt they’re in on it.

It's still not being answered. Still won't answer why nothing was stopped based on a "suspicious" person.

Klobuchar asking a non partisan adult question? I’m fairly certain the apocalypse is upon us.

I was just about to post that this hearing is night and day different from the House one. There have been no anti-gun screeds so far and I think it's because the Senate is, in general, a much more collegial body.

This hearing is shaping up to frame all this as what it actually was. A grossly incompetent operation shared by both the Secret Service and local law enforcement. Alot of lazy minded complacency in all this.

yeah but Amy was MOSTLY trying to say the govt didn't do this...but I hear ya. Rare for her.

All of this texting stuff. they have ear and mouth comms in SS.... how hard was it to tell the agents around Trump in their ear to not put him on the stage until they verify a threat.

These Senators need to stop with this "outsmarting" shite. The shooter didn't "outsmart" anyone.
