This is extemely disappointing response from the ACLU. They need new leadership or something because they’re justifying all of the concerns about the recent shift on their stances that others have levied.

It's crazy how far left they've gone just over the past 5 years.

They're defending the suspension of due process in the name of social justice

I'll explain this to you like you're a three-year-old: When powerful and influential organizations, particularly in the legal field, like the ACLU publish content that imply injuring foundational due process principles, upon which our country and Constitution was created, they rightfully and logically open themselves up to criticism. In a free nation that cherishes the freedom of the individual and freedom from government deprivation of life, liberty and property without due process (I mean the ACLU by definition advocates for civil liberties every day allegedly), their position contradicts their entire basis for existing and contradicts the qualities that distinguish a free state from others, hence due process of law what our Founding Fathers fought the British for.

The new proposal adds protections for accused students, giving them a presumption of innocence throughout the disciplinary process and the right to review all evidence a school collects. They would also be able to cross-examine their accusers, although it would be done indirectly through a representative to avoid personal confrontation.

I really don't have a position concerning DeVos she's been maligned for a multitude of reasons but I agree with this proposal as it relates to the accused, projects a concept of rightful due process and fair trial

That's why I said it will be interesting to see how they try to explain their way out of this.

Due Process is apparently only for the press corp.

Between this, the elections and what has happened with the Press at the White House it appears to me we are moving head long into a major physical confrontations, as it appears when the law does not favor the Communists, they ignore them or change them to meet their destructive needs.

The proposed rule would make schools less safe for survivors of sexual assault and harassment
When and why did the left start using the word "survivor" for victims of sexual assault?

I think the word survivor should be only used for people who actually survived a life threatening disease or injury.

If you were brutally beaten and raped, then you're a survivor.

Once again, more histrionics and hyperbole from the left.

There was no reason to bring Fraiser into this.

Now I miss Fraiser, never was any social justice shite, it was just funny.

there is already alarmingly high rates of campus sexual assaults and harassment that go unreported.

If they’re unreported, how do they know these assaults happen?
