I saw a quote from Kennedy where he said Trump called him after the hearing and told Kennedy that he did not approve the ad spend.

Remember all the phony stories about Pete Hegseth being fired? It's only the one's who the corrupt system hate the most who get this treatment.
And, of course, multiply this by a factor of 1 million and you get what Trump has had to withstand ever since he descended the elevator with Melania in 2015.
