Abortionist Faces Lawsuit for Leaving Half of Baby Inside Mother in Botched Abortion

An Illinois abortionist faces a lawsuit after botching an abortion so badly he left half of the baby’s body inside the mother.
A medical negligence lawsuit filed against a Champaign, Illinois abortionist alleges he left half of an unborn baby inside a woman’s body after a botched abortion, causing her to undergo emergency surgery. The suit, filed last week in the Circuit Court of Champaign County, names abortionist Keith Reisinger-Kindle (pictured) and his Equity Clinic abortion center as defendants.
The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, underwent an abortion at the abortion center on April 1 and 2, 2023. According to the lawsuit, Reisinger-Kindle perforated the woman’s uterus during the procedure, leaving a hole “about the size of a quarter or half-dollar” and failing to remove significant portions of the baby’s body. When Doe reported severe cramps afterward, the doctor allegedly instructed her to take Tylenol and laxatives rather than providing immediate medical attention.
Days later, on April 5, the woman required emergency surgery to remove the remaining baby parts. A medical report by an obstetrician/gynecologist, included in the court filings, states that Reisinger-Kindle “deviated from a reasonable standard of care” by perforating the uterus, failing to recognize the injury, and not thoroughly examining the baby’s remains post-procedure. The report asserts that an adequate examination would have revealed the incomplete abortion.
The lawsuit further claims that Reisinger-Kindle refused to provide information to a surgeon involved in the emergency procedure, citing patient privacy, though he later spoke with Doe without mentioning the earlier conversation. The plaintiff, a mother of four, is seeking unspecified damages for the physical and emotional toll of the ordeal.
Reisinger-Kindle opened Equity Clinic in 2022 following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which shifted abortion regulation to the states. Illinois has since become a hub for out-of-state abortions, with nearly 17,000 women traveling to the state in 2022 alone, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
This case echoes other reported incidents of botched abortions. In February 2025, LifeNews.com reported that a Planned Parenthood clinic in Virginia allegedly failed to remove all of the baby;s body during an abortion, later inserting an IUD into the still-pregnant woman, who only discovered the error after experiencing complications.
Similarly, in 2016, LifeNews.com detailed a late-term abortion in Michigan where part of a baby’s head was left inside the mother’s womb, requiring subsequent surgery.
Neither Reisinger-Kindle nor Equity Clinic immediately responded to requests for comment. The lawsuit is pending, with a court date yet to be scheduled.

Keith Reisinger-Kindle, D.O., is passionate about the importance of social justice and the need to incorporate it into medicine. Reisinger-Kindle is assistant residency program director with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM) and a clinician in the OBGYN department at Wright State Physicians.
“Incorporating social justice into medicine involves providing physicians with the skills to examine the roles that bias, discrimination and oppression play in the lives of our patients and colleagues,” said Reisinger-Kindle.
Reisinger-Kindle’s experience in this field comes from his time as an intergroup dialogue facilitator and instructor with the University of Michigan Program on Intergroup Relations. He utilizes the formal training he received as a social justice and anti-racism facilitator and educator to host a social justice training program for OBGYN residents at BSOM.
The sessions involve training through dialogue. The training sessions have titles such as “Gender and Ability Privilege” and “How Your Racial Privilege Affects the Care Your Patients Receive.” The sessions use dialogue and activities to enforce learning points and highlight an individual’s own experiences.

The baby gets nothing out of this. Only the attorney who is going to recover. Mom will still be left with a broken heart when she realizes what she killed.

I wish I could feel sympathy for the murderous mother, but everyone involved should be facing murder charges.

As a Queer identifying physician, I understand the barriers many LGBTQ patients face in accessing care. Equity Clinic is a uniquely designed family planning/abortion clinic in that we founded our organization on principles of equity and social justice. We provide family planning services including contraception and abortion services. Our staff are trained in anti-oppression activism and receive specific training on anti-heterosexism and anti-transphobia including appropriate language and humility. Our intake process and history forms are gender affirming/neutral. All our facilities are gender affirming/neutral.

Was this one of the fake stories they tried to use to say abortion bans were killing people?

Unfortunate since fewer removed body parts = less money for body parts sold. Sick fuqs.

You'd, umm...
You'd think someone would notice, I mean...
I can't even say it really. It disgusts me. Someone is going to have a hard time staying out of Hell when their day of judgement comes. Let me just say that and stop there.

The mother deserves every bit of physical and emotional pain she suffers until her last breath. The only victim here is the murdered baby.
