That was the first time I realized that it wasn't simply a matter of being ideologically opposed to someone, it was an eye-opener that a certain Party was literally slipping into evil.
The GOP has its faults, but I'll take stupid and cowardly over evil every time.

I want to agree with you, in principle, but you believe abortion is a right and keep and bear arms isn't.
Obviously, there is no Constitutional "right" to an abortion. A fictional/notional "right" was created, out of thin air, by 7 old white men.
Whereas the 2nd Amendment is clearly in the text, protecting (not creating) the natural right of self-defense.

This video is from 2016. The doctor seen in the altercation lost his medical license in 2018 and died 17 days later.
Santella’s actions in the video prompted an investigation by the California Medical Board, which further revealed gross misconduct on his part. In addition to the “aggressive” and “outrageous” behavior he exhibited during the 2016 altercation, the investigation also revealed that Santella over-prescribed narcotics and opioids, and botched an abortion in 2015. The medical board also noted Santella’s past disciplinary issues. In 2000, his medical license was revoked because he failed to maintain adequate medical records. That revocation was stayed, and he instead served four years on probation. The CA medical board ultimately ruled that Santella was unfit to practice medicine.
After fallout from the video and the medical board’s investigation, Santella’s ability to practice at the Sharp Healthcare group of hospitals was revoked. He was also fired from the FPA abortion chain.
"On December 31, 2017, Santella surrendered his California medical license to avoid license revocation — and died just 17 days later. Santella’s wife, France Santella, died unexpectedly less than five months later, on June 3, 2018. According to Santella’s obituary, the couple left no children."
